š¢ Join the UKIO Working Party (2027-2029)
The UKIO Congress is only possible with the Working Party who play a vital role in shaping the scientific and educational programme, ensuring that content remains relevant, innovative and reflective of contemporary practice across imaging and oncology. Weāre pleased to open up the call for expressions of interest for the period of the 2027 congress and up to and including the 2029 congress.
UKIO is seeking enthusiastic and committed professionals to join and all expressions of interest will be considered, but we have particular vacancies in the following areas (some of which will be shadowing the current lead in the first year):
- Paediatrics
- Obstetrics & Gynaecology
- Cardiac
- Breast
- Head & Neck
- Chest & Lung
- Research
- Service Improvement, Policy & Quality Improvement
- Education & Workforce
- Clinical Oncology
- Industry Liaison / Digital technology
About the role
Working Party members are responsible for contributing their expertise to the development of high-quality congress content, identifying emerging topics and trends, and supporting the delivery of an engaging and multidisciplinary programme.
Members will be expected to:
Ā· Advise and contribute ideas for sessions, liaising with their VP in time for a meeting in Autumn. (September-October).
Ā· Contribute ideas for plenary sessions.
Ā· Attend Working Party Meetings to be briefed on sessions and contribute overall programme development. The majority of these meetings are held online.
Ā· Organise assigned sessions ā agree topics and invite speakers and submit programme session templates to conference organisers (October-December).
Ā· Participate in meetings (online or face-to-face) with stream and Management Committee members as needed.
Ā· Review abstract submissions in February (approx. 15-25 per person) and attend an abstract vetting meeting in March of each year. Please note that abstract reviewing is a mandatory part of the VP / WPM role.
Ā· Attend congress and be available to chair/moderate sessions where appropriate.
Ā· Participate in the evaluation process, providing feedback and ideas for future conferences.
