Rice is a staple for many people, but it is one of those foods that can push blood sugar up quickly.

Cauliflower rice is a simple lower-carb swap that works brilliantly with curries, stir-fry recipes and saucy dishes. But letโ€™s be honest, cauliflower can be a bit bitter. If it is watery, under-seasoned or treated like a punishment, nobody is going to be excited about eating it.

The trick is to cook off the excess moisture, season it properly, and use it with meals that already have plenty of flavour. Add garlic, herbs, butter, olive oil, and spices to add flavour.

You still get the feel of a proper meal, just with a lower-carb base that is much kinder from a blood sugar perspective.

These are often labelled as โ€œhealthyโ€ foods, and yes, they can contain fibre, vitamins and minerals.

But if you have Prediabetes or Type 2 Diabetes, thereโ€™s one very important thing to understand:

One of the most frustrating things I hear from people with Prediabetes and Type 2 Diabetes is this:

โ€œIโ€™m eating betterโ€ฆ so why arenโ€™t my numbers improving?โ€

And honestly? That can feel so defeating.

But it doesnโ€™t mean youโ€™re doing anything wrong.

It usually means no one has properly explained whatโ€™s driving your blood sugar in the first place.

Food matters, of course. But blood sugar isnโ€™t just about food. Itโ€™s also about insulin, how your body responds, and what happens after you eat.

If you have been following the advice, taking the medication, trying to cut back, and your numbers are still not where you want them to be, I need you to know this.

โŒ It is not because you are lazy.
โŒ It is not because you have failed.
โŒ It is not because you are beyond help.

Most people are stuck because they have been given information that manages the problem, not information that gets to the root of it.

That leaves a lot of people trying really hardโ€ฆ and getting nowhere.
