We’re very excited about launching Good Death Salon at the beautiful Abney park cemetery this weekend!

Join us at the beautiful newly restored chapel for a very special afternoon event where we will have an open discussion about death. The conversation has no agendas and is led by the attendees in a non judgemental and supportive space.

Saturday October 19th
1.30pm - 3.30pm

Spaces are free but booking is essential as spaces are limited.

Good Death Salon is an intimate and nurturing space for curiosity, conversation and connection around death and dying. It is a much needed open invitation to explore ideas, voice fears and share stories in circle.

Whether you wish to acknowledge and explore thoughts around your own mortality or that of a loved this is a space for you. Honest conversations are refreshing and empowering. Far from being morbid they can also be enlightening. By acknowledging the impermanence of life we can perhaps appreciate it more fully. For many people discussing end of life with family members can be challenging and yet it is one of the most important conversations. Let’s start talking.

Good Death Salon was co-founded by death doula, author and founder of Bless Stories Ashlyn Gibson and End of life companion Danielle Galway. Ashlyn is a member of End Of Life Doula UK.

Abney Park Chapel is situated in the heart of Abney Park. From the High Street entrance, follow the cobbled path straight ahead and when the path splits in three, follow the right hand path directly to the Chapel.

Happy to be joining the Bless Intimate series offering Yoga Nidra & Reiki on May 25

Yoga Nidra is a guided meditaion that translates as “yogic sleep”. Our first session with focus on self compassion. As you relax and get cosy, I’ll guide you through a Yoga Nidra meditation, ending in hands on Reiki allowing you to gently soften and release. This will be a chance for you to completely rest and allow yourself to receive.

You’ll hopefully leave feeling like you’re lying on a fluffy fur blanket as happy as I am in this picture…

Would love to see you at the beautiful for this, all details & link in my bio for booking ❤️

BLESS DEATH CAFES

March 23 & April 27

We’re so proud of how our beautiful death cafes continue to grow, with some lovely regulars and wonderful new people coming along to each one, they are always awe inspiring, open & beautiful conversations that leave us all feeling invigorated and uplifted.

Even those some of these subjects around death and dying can be difficult or painful, talking about them together, in our safe haven can be so magical and the feeling of community is hard to fully capture…

We have a few spots left for tomorrow evening (link in bio) and we’d love for you to join us 🖤

Curious about death cafes? The Bless Death Cafe is hosted by death doula Danielle Galway and Bless founder and death doula in training This is an intimate Bless circle for anyone who wants to explore and share ideas around end of life.

Death Cafes provide a unique opportunity to talk openly and honestly about death and dying in a safe and confidential environment. There are no agendas, no objectives or pre defined themes. Each Death Cafe is a unique experience that is led by the conversation around the table. It is a conversational evening rather than a grief or support session.

These events are free community events and we accept donations to support the continued running costs.

H O P E

Back in November I decided that I was going to sail through winter this year, life felt different… i felt calm & a sense of beauty touched everything for a while, I felt as if I was in a state of grace - like I understood what people meant by that.

But life had other plans. I was listening to podcast , where her & her sister do a beautiful season inspired by Bell Hooks “All About Love” and Adrienne quotes someone who said “Hope is a discipline”

(I can’t remember who - so if anyone knows, let me know!)

I think these worlds are so powerful and I keep bringing myself back to them

Hope is a discipline - I had never considered hope that way but it makes sense to me. So this January I’m cultivating hope as a daily practice, to try and bring it in even for just a moment.

Sending a little hope to everyone this January ❤️

Join me for our first Bless Death Cafe Thursday 15 September at 6.30pm

Inspired by the eye opening events from our friends at the wonderful , myself & Ashlyn Stylist] will be holding a Death Cafe at the beautiful Bless store next Thursday. This is event is free to attend & open to all 🖤

What is a Death Cafe? The following quotes are taken from the website & will give you more of an idea of what it’s all about:

• Death Cafes objectives are to increase awareness of death with a view to helping people make the most of their (finite) lives

• A Death Cafe is a group directed discussion of death with no agenda, objectives or themes. It is a discussion group rather than grief support or counselling

I’ve found them to be open, honest and inclusive, inspiring discussions ranging from the personal to the philosophical. Discussions are free flowing, group directed and different every time, covering themes such as memory & meaning, ritual, mortality and beyond…

Me & Ashlyn Stylist] have a personal & professional interest in death, end of life and grief and the way they unite us all and we look forward to welcoming you…

Spaces are free but limited and you can sign up via the link in my bio 🖤

Me in my happy place…

Just wanted to tell you all that I’ve found a new home to offer Reiki & Yoga Nidra, swipe right for details…

The Bless Sanctuary is a magical & peaceful space, infused with love, you can just feel it when you walk in, a place to slow down and settle and I’m so happy to be offering treatments there.

You can find me on Wednesday evenings, booking link is in my bio ❤️

Reiki is a non invasive healing technique that can calm & soothe, as well as clearing any energetic blocks. Yoga Nidra is the practice of yogic sleep. It soothes and calms the nervous system, promotes better sleep and can reduce stress and anxiety.

This combination in this beautiful setting is a gorgeous rest for you & your nervous system.

These offerings are 1-1 or 1-2 ❤️

Is this Spring finally?

I’ve been reading through my IG posts from the last 2 years as they feel like an online diary & honestly I feel like a shadow of my former self… hopefully it’s just winter, winter is a fu**er in the northern hemisphere isn’t it?

Does anyone else feel like they’re emerging from a chrysalis? Just as nature awakens I’m here in the midst of the second covid in 6 months, taking some downtime that I don’t feel like I needed, all I want is to be put in the world.

Much love to everyone out there, whatever you’re moving through 🌸🌷🌸

Last night I did a yoga class and it was pure bliss (thanks )

I had a little realisation that I can swim for miles or lift weights or take mindful walks or write in the mornings but there is nowhere else that I can feel what’s happening in my body and in my soul the way I can when I practice Yoga.

And yet I forget this all the time.

It’s the biggest gift of not teaching as much that I get to be a student again, without thinking about the cues and all that, I can just be in my body & find out how I feel & come away knowing something.

Also hi, look I came out of Instagram hibernation! And it’s almost March & how are you all I wonder? Are you ok out there? Hasn’t the winter been such a long one…
