How many times today did you hold your breath⦠without even noticing?
I started catching myself doing it constantly.
While replying to messages.
Thinking.
Cleaning.
Waiting for someoneās reaction.
Trying to ākeep it together.ā
And it made me realise something powerful:
My body never truly felt SAFE to relax.
Thatās what survival mode does.
It becomes so normal that tension feels like your personality.
A lot of women walking around calling themselves āfineā are actually living in a constant state of bracing.
Jaw tight.
Chest tight.
Mind racing.
Breath shallow
Not because theyāre weak.
Because their nervous system learned to stay ready.
Healing isnāt always a huge breakthrough.
Sometimes itās:
⨠noticing the pattern
⨠softening the body
⨠finally allowing yourself to exhale
So if you catch yourself holding your breath todayā¦
pause for a second queen š
Drop your shoulders.
Unclench your jaw.
Take one deep breath.
Your body might be waiting for permission to feel safe again.
