If any of you artist friends of ours would like to submit a piece of artwork for this upcoming exhibit please inbox me. The only criteria is that it be inspired by Star Wars and or the work of Stuart Freeborn of course. It does not have to be an exact reference, it can be abstract etc. It can be any medium and depending on space constraints, large or small. Most of us artists who are selling our work will be donating some if not all of the proceeds to the Great Ormond Street Hospital. This is however not obligatory. neither is it obligatory to sell your piece if it is from your private collection. This is simply a way of celebrating the gigantic contribution that our neighbourhood comrade made to the film industry and the lasting effects that the project he collaborated Star Wars, made to so many of us as youngsters and later as artists....this is not a profit making scheme nor are we necessarily trying to do a charity drive...so if things sell the artists have a choice as to what to do with that money...and they also have a choice of whether they sell or not...Alternatively if you would like to put up a painting but not have IT for sale and provide prints for sale that is also possible. Just inbox us and we can tweak the details. please do not send any art work without having written and communicated with us first.
We will need the name of the artist, the title of the piece, the medium used and if you are going to sell it, the price....and of course for our purposes as curators, your contact details.
Please write us as soon as possible if you are interested in taking part....we sort of found out about this a bit late in the game ourselves and got involved head first so we are trying to give people as much notice as possible!
Cheers and may the Force be with you ###Leticia
