Our 2026 GSF Awards and Conference is just around the corner!

On Tuesday 22 September, we’ll be bringing together our GSF community in Birmingham for a special day of learning, sharing, connection and celebration.

This year’s theme is Shaping the Future of Care - Learning, Leading & Innovating in Care.

We have a fantastic programme planned, with speakers exploring some of the issues that matter to our community, including:

➡️ Prof Laura Shallcross, Professor of Public Health at University College London - looking at the importance of data collection and benchmarking in social care
➡️ Dr Zena Aldridge, NIHR Nursing and Midwifery - recognising the invaluable role of the social care workforce in research
➡️ Prof Celia Kitzinger - Co-Director of the Open Justice Court of Protection Project
➡️ James Norris, Founder of The Digital Legacy Association exploring the future of care provision through the lens of an ‘end of life technologist’
➡️ Prof Keri Thomas, Founder & Chair of GSF

And then, of course, it’s time to celebrate our GSF Community.

We’ll be recognising the achievements of GSF-accredited and reaccredited organisations across care homes, domiciliary care, primary care, hospitals, hospices and retirement villages, including our GSF Quality Hallmark Awards, Platinum achievements and GSF ‘Of the Year’ Awards.

It’s a chance to celebrate the progress being made across our community, share good practice, learn from one another and recognise the commitment of the teams working every day to improve care for people, families and communities.

We’re really looking forward to bringing our GSF community together for what promises to be a very special day.

A huge amount of credit for this achievement goes to our Head of Care, Yaz, and Deputy Manager, Sandie, who have worked tirelessly to drive GSF forward across Queen Charlotte.

Yaz and Sandie have worked closely together to develop new ideas, strengthen our ways of working and bring teams together, ensuring that GSF isn’t simply something that sits within one department — but is truly embedded as a whole-home approach.

Their leadership has encouraged staff to think differently about how we provide care, how we communicate with residents and families, how we recognise changing needs and, most importantly, how we ensure that the resident remains at the very heart of every decision we make. ❤️

They have put countless hours, conversations, ideas and plans into making this happen — working alongside the wider team to ensure that the principles of GSF are reflected throughout the home.

Yaz and Sandie — Queen Charlotte is incredibly proud of you both. 🌟

Your passion for improving care, your determination to make a difference and your commitment to bringing everyone together has helped Queen Charlotte achieve something truly special.

We are overjoyed, deeply proud and thrilled to announce that The Willows Care Home has officially been awarded the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award in recognition of our high-quality end-of-life care.

While receiving this national mark of quality is an incredible professional milestone, what fills our hearts most is what it represents: the deep compassion, dignity, and warmth that our team brings to our residents every single day.

Huge congratulations to all the team at Anita Stone Court on achieving GSF Accreditation! 🎉

What a fantastic achievement for the whole team! We’re so pleased to celebrate this milestone with you👏

We are delighted to announce that Anita Stone Court nursing home in Moseley has gained the Gold Standards Framework Quality Hallmark Award for the excellent care it provides for residents approaching the end of life.

Following an intensive 18-month program, the home achieved an excellent score of 70 out of 77—nine points above the pass requirement—and met every mandatory standard.

The independent assessor praised the team’s compassionate culture, dedication and passion, finding that the framework was firmly embedded in everyday practice.

This wonderful achievement belongs to colleagues throughout Anita Stone Court. Congratulations to the whole team!
