ππ»ββοΈπ§ ππ»ββοΈ Our brains have the capacity to change and learn new things throughout life. But in our early years and adolescence the brain goes through an intense phase of enforcing neural pathways we use and getting rid of the ones we donβt. They call this βneural pruningβ. The decisions of what stays & what goes is also decided by the emotional environment, leaving us with behavioural patterns that feel difficult to change because they are in a way the βfabricβ of who we feel we are. Understanding this has helped me to recognise and allow deeply embedded patterns into my awareness, and if not to change than at least become familiar. It makes life so much lighter and helps to be more empathetic with others. πΈ β€οΈ
