Kids Can Achieve Supporting children with Special Needs and Disabilities and their families for over 20 years.

Kids Can Achieve was formed in October 2002 by local parents, concerned professionals and members of the community in Harrow. It was formed to support local children and young people whose educational, emotional, social and psychological difficulties were not being recognised. As a result of this gap in provision these children were developing complex behaviours and lacked the social and coping sk

ills which enable them to learn, play and socialise and have normal life opportunities. The organisation has grown rapidly and has quickly become influential and respected amongst both statutory and voluntary agencies and most importantly the families they serve. Demand for our services has increased as our profile has risen and despite our successes, we are conscious of an urgent need to expand and develop these services further. Since 2014 we have been working in partnership with The Westminster Society and we are in the process of a formal merger. We now provide a wide range of innovative services for children and young people with disabilities and their families. We involve, consult and include families so that they are key decision makers in the development of our services. Our excellent service provision is reflected in our commitment to meet the
individual needs of the people we support with
dedicated trained staff. Our emphasis is on building effective and supportive partnerships with families. Providing care and support in a safe and nurturing environment is our top priority.

Last Sunday KCA welcomed families for an open day at our new space in Ealing. 👋

Parents visited the venue, met the staff team, and learned more about the support and activities we will be offering for children and young people with learning disabilities.

Ilias Kostalas, Assistant Director for children, families and communities, said 💬: “I am very excited that our new KCA Ealing Weekend Short Breaks service is nearly ready to open at St Ann's School. It was fantastic to see such positive interest, and we are now looking forward to starting sessions very soon and building a safe and fun service for young people in Ealing.”

A big THANK YOU to everyone who joined us for our Quiz Night on Saturday! 💙

With your incredible support together we raised an amazing £1,400 for KCA! 🙌👏

These funds will help us move closer to creating a much-needed soft playroom for the children and young adults we support. Giving them a safe, fun space to play, build confidence, and develop important physical skills.

A huge shoutout to AJ our quizmaster and Allie for supporting, and to Alex for making the night happen. We are so grateful to everyone who attended, donated, volunteered, and helped make the evening such a success. We truly couldn’t do it without you! 🙏

Join us soon at Kids Can Achieve for our charity quiz night. 😍 It will be hosted by the legendary quizmaster AJ.

On Monday we held an event at Royal Albert Hall celebrating our Family Service. 🎉

They recently achieved the Advice Quality Standard, which is an official mark which shows they give high quality advice to families of children with SEND.

We were grateful to be joined by many parents of children with SEND who we have supported. 🫶 They led a panel talk about their experiences of the SEND system, raising their children and the importance of getting the right support. It was very powerful to hear their stories.

The event was also a chance for parents to share what they'd like in the future from our Family Service and how we can continue to get it right for them.

A big thank you to the Royal Albert Hall, who kindly let us use their Elgar room for this event. 🙏

We'd like to tell you again about Kids Can Achieve, which is now a part of LDN London. It is a place for children and young adults with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) in Harrow and Ealing.

KCA is more than a charity. It's a part of the local community. 💓 The team have been there for children and young people with SEND in Harrow for more than 20 years. They run holiday schemes, after-school and Saturday clubs, 1:1 community support and advice services.

At KCA, children can simply be children, rather than being defined by their disability. They are each valued members of the community and are encouraged to reach their potential. 💫
