After a Little Rain the Agastache (Agastache feoniculum) is looking good again it struggled in the heat. It’s also known as Anise hyssop, Giant Hyssop and is a member of the Lamiaceae (Mint family)
It attracts pollinators and its benefits are it is an anti inflammatory herb, and can also help sooth a cough. A herbal tea can relieve fever and can help calm and promote sleep. Native tribes would make a poultice from leaves to sooth burns. The flowers smell amazing and look great on the herb garden too..

πŸ˜‚ The first photo on this made me laugh today as was trying to take photo of Pumpkin in second photo and hit the camera reverse at the same time. But rather than delete I thought it a perfect introduction to new followers and old as you won’t see many photos of me..

Love this comparison of how the herbs have faired in this hot weather.
Herb Garden planted in soil and watered very occasionally. It usually is fine with this but the weather this year has really dried it up..
Compared to Gravel/planing path, Self seeded Herbs watered even less and absolutely thriving. πŸ’šπŸŒΏπŸ§

Seed saving is full on at the moment due to the hot weather. Sunday I harvested Rue (Ruta graveolens)
This beautiful delicate flowered herb has really pretty seed heads too.
And each little section contains a small black seed.
Rue is used in lots of ways, but the folklore is that it can ward off malevolent evils. More seed collecting this week too..
