During a reflexology session, there’s often a moment when the body relaxes so deeply that the stomach begins to “talk” — not necessarily with gas, but with gentle gurgles and digestive sounds. 🤍
And honestly? For me, that’s a beautiful sign.
Here’s why it happens👇
1) We hold tension all day long
Most people move through life in a constant state of stress. Tight stomach, shallow breathing, muscles always “on.” The digestive system is usually one of the first areas affected by this tension.
2) The body finally switches into relaxation mode
When you’re lying down during reflexology, the nervous system starts moving away from “fight or flight” and into “rest and digest.” Breathing slows, the abdomen softens, and the body begins to let go.
3) The digestive system starts waking up again
Those stomach sounds are often a sign that digestion and internal movement are returning naturally. What might feel embarrassing to you is often a signal that your body feels safe enough to relax.
So in my treatment room, there’s no need to apologize for being human.
If your belly makes noises while you relax, I see it as a positive response — a little reminder that your body is releasing tension and finding balance again.
Do you ever notice bloating, tightness in the stomach, or the feeling that you can never fully relax? ❤️
