📣 BREAKING NEWS 📣

Goodbye PCOS, hello PMOS 👋🏼

For years the name PCOS has led to confusion, misdiagnosis, delayed diagnosis and poor care. It doesn’t reflect what the condition is, it even tells you something to do with cysts on your ovaries, but that is not true!

PMOS = Polyendocrine Metabolic Ovarian Syndrome

Yes it’s a mouthful…but at least it actually describes what the condition is. It doesn’t just affect reproductive systems, it affects metabolism, cardiovascular health and increases risk of type 2 diabetes.

This is a really positive step in the right direction 👏🏼

Hellooooo spring 👋🏼🌻🌸🌼

My hayfever is in full force but I will not let it ruin this beautiful time!

It’s been so gloomy in the UK in recent months, I dread to think what my vitamin D levels are…

In PCOS, vitamin D is one of the most common deficiencies and that’s not just because of living in the UK.

How vitamin D is linked to PCOS:
☀️helps improve insulin sensitivity
☀️plays a role in regulating ovarian function and androgen levels
☀️low vitamin D is associated with higher levels chronic low-grade inflammation
☀️low vitamin D is linked to fatigue and low mood

Wondering what your vitamin D level is? Vitamin D is included in our ‘wellbeing test’, along with vitamin B12, omega-3 index and CRP.

No.6 - Choose support over willpower

Most people don’t struggle because they lack motivation or drive. They struggle because they rely on willpower and don’t build support once the excitement fades.

Support looks different for everyone. For some, support is the people around you or time to reflect on your own. For others, it's having systems in place to make habits easier.

You don’t have to do everything alone - join our community today! It all starts with our free lifestyle quiz (link in bio) 💗

No.5 - Ask yourself if alcohol is serving you

This is a touchy one and please don't think I am preaching sobriety because I'm not, I still drink (just nowhere near as much).

Unfortunately, evidence shows alcohol can increase inflammation, disrupt gut balance and make blood sugar regulation harder. So you could eat all the right things and exercise perfectly, but if you add alcohol into the mix, it will feel like you're swimming upstream.

It's about weighing up the positives and negatives. For me, alcohol sends me into a 3-4 day depression and my skin usually flares up. Sometimes I decide it's worth it, but sometimes I decide it isn't.

Just food for thought!

No.4 - Keep a dairy

For this one, I don't necessarily mean a 'Dear diary' type (although journaling is a great tool for a stressful mind). I mean whenever you try something new, whether that is a new skin product, supplement, removing a food group, anything you're trying with a specific outcome in mind. Make a note of the date you started and any changes you see or feel.

This is something I wished I'd done sooner, because it would have saved me so much time, money and head space. Whenever I looked back and thought 'my skin was great there, what was I doing', I never had a record of it.

It's also so easy to fall into the trap of trying multiple things at once but then not actually know what is helping and what isn't.

Please share this with anyone it would be helpful for!

No.3 - Let 'enough' be enough

This is a big one for me. I always feel I should be doing more, moving more, being more productive, eating better, sleeping better...

But actually, sometime recognising when enough is actually enough, is exactly what your body needs. You don't need to be 100% productive, eat clean 100%, exercise all day every day.

It's tough but I’m trying to notice when I’ve done enough, and to stop pushing just for the sake of it.

If you're struggling to cut back, drop me a DM and we can chat through together 💗

We're running a small pilot of the OvaJoy platform starting TOMORROW!
It's free to join and you'll receive exclusive discounts on our at-home test ranges. Send me a DM if you want to secure a last minute place!
