Sleep isn't just about avoiding tired mornings (although we all know how tough those can be!). 😴💤

While your little one is sleeping, their brain and body are doing some pretty amazing things.

From processing everything they've learnt during the day to supporting their growth, memory and emotional wellbeing, sleep plays such an important role in their development. 🧠💕

And sometimes, even small changes to your child's sleep routine can make a real difference.

If bedtime has become a battle, you're dealing with frequent night wakings or you're simply not sure whether your little one is getting enough sleep, I'm here to help.

Together, we can look at what's happening and find an approach that works for your child and your family.

💌 Drop me a DM if you'd like to chat about your little one's sleep.

📌 Save this post for later or share it with another tired parent!

It’s so important to me that my approach is personal and completely tailored to each family I work with. No two families, or children, are the same.💕You have your own parenting style, values and ethos, and your little one has their own unique temperament and needs.

There’s no one-size-fits-all approach. My role is to understand what works for you and your family, then create a personalised approach that feels realistic, supportive and sustainable, so you can feel confident, not judged, in your parenting.

A simple bedtime routine can make such a difference when it comes to helping little ones wind down for sleep. 🌙

It doesn’t need to be complicated or take hours. The key is keeping things calm, predictable and consistent, so your child starts to recognise those little cues that bedtime is coming.

A snack, some quiet play, bath and PJs, cuddles, a story or song… then into bed. 🤍

And remember, every family is different. Your routine doesn’t have to look exactly like this to work, it just needs to feel manageable and consistent for you.

Save this one for later, and if bedtime is currently feeling anything but calm, send me a DM and we can have a chat. 💬

Toddlers love to drag out bedtime, and it can be such a tricky balance. Especially after a day in childcare when you’re enjoying that precious quality time together.

My advice? Keep the same routine every night and aim for around 30 minutes. This helps avoid the dreaded ‘second wind’, when suddenly they’re running around in circles and pulling every toy out of the box!

What a fantastic week it’s been! 🥰
I’ve had the pleasure of joining some brilliant groups, chatting with lots of mummies and daddies about their little ones’ sleep challenges, and helping to cut through some of the noise and misinformation out there with evidence-based advice.

I’ve also had a packed weekend surrounded by wonderful friends and my other half, so my heart is feeling very full. ❤️

Now I’m feeling refreshed and ready for another week of supporting lovely families, giving them confidence around their little ones’ sleep, and hopefully helping to change lives along the way. ✨

🌙 Is your toddler waking at 5am and thinking it’s time to start the day?

A wake clock can be a really helpful tool for little ones who are learning the difference between “it’s still sleep time” and “it’s time to get up!” ☀️

Instead of relying on numbers (which don’t mean much to toddlers!), wake clocks use colours, pictures or simple symbols to give your child a clear visual cue.

For example:

🌙 Sleep time → the clock shows a sleep symbol or calming colour
☀️ Wake-up time → the clock changes colour or shows a sun/wake symbol

And the best bit? It gives your child a consistent boundary without you having to explain at 5.15am why it’s still nighttime. 😴

But a little reminder: a wake clock isn't a magic fix for early waking. It works best alongside good sleep foundations and understanding why your child is waking early in the first place.

✨ My two favourite wake clocks:
1️⃣ Tommee Tippee Gro Clock
2️⃣ Zeepy Sleep Trainer Clock

If you're considering introducing one, save this post for later. 💛

And if your little one is regularly starting the day at 5am, DM me “EARLY” and let’s look at what might be behind those early mornings.

Please do not start your day at 5am if you don’t have to.

If your little one wakes at 5am, treat it like a night wake.

Keep the room dark and avoid taking them out of their bedroom before 6am if you can.

Getting them up and starting the day at 5am can signal to their body clock that 5am is morning and we do not want to accidentally create an early-rising habit!

Think: 5am = still nighttime
6am+ = good morning!

Of course, every child is different, and there may be times when they genuinely need you. But if early wakes have become a pattern, keeping that early morning period as “night-like” can be a helpful place to start.

Save this for the next 5am wake-up!

Ever wondered why the right amount of daytime sleep can make such a difference at bedtime? 😴

It all comes down to something called **sleep pressure**.

As your child stays awake, adenosine gradually builds in the brain, increasing their need for sleep. But finding the right balance matters. Too little daytime sleep can leave them overtired and dysregulated, while too much may mean they simply aren’t tired enough when bedtime comes around.

✨ The aim isn’t to cut naps or force more sleep. It’s about finding the amount that works for *your* child.

And that balance will naturally shift as they grow and their sleep needs change.

Swipe through to understand how sleep pressure works and why daytime sleep can have such an impact on bedtime. ➡️

If sleep feels tricky at the moment, support is available. 🤍

Still wondering when your little one is ready for sleep?

Try keeping a simple sleep diary and jot down little clues like yawning, eye rubbing, becoming clingy, or losing interest in play.

Over time, you may start to spot patterns and feel more confident recognising those little “I’m ready for sleep” moments.

Follow the cues, notice the patterns, and trust your instincts.
