So… let’s talk storing Matcha. Fridge or cupboard?

Fridge. Every time.

Matcha hates heat, light, air and moisture. Leave it in the cupboard and it loses its colour, flavour and that fresh taste much faster.

The rules:

→ Keep it sealed tight in its tin or pouch
→ Store it in the fridge once it’s open
→ Let it come to room temp before opening, so you don’t get condensation

Your matcha’s only as good as how you store it 💚

The first cosy one of the season 🍁

hot matcha with maple + cinnamon, our autumn ritual.

you’ll need:
· 3-4g Kyo’s ceremonial matcha
· 60ml hot water (around 80°C, not boiling)
· 1 tsp maple syrup
· 200ml steamed milk (oat works best)
· a dust of cinnamon

maple in the mug → whisk your matcha until frothy → pour over the steamed milk → cinnamon on top.

As the tea harvest season in Japan begins to draw to a close, a moment of appreciation for the people behind every bowl 🇯🇵

From tending the fields throughout the year to carefully harvesting the leaves, there are countless hands, generations of knowledge and an incredible amount of work behind the matcha we drink every day.

A huge thank you to the farmers, tea field workers and producers who make what we do at Kyo’s possible…

So here’s to another successful harvest 🌱

So yesterday, we quietly took over Covent Garden… 🍵

Every matcha was hand-whisked with intention. Every cup made one by one. And somehow, a little hatch became a place for hundreds of people to stop, connect and share a matcha with us.

To everyone who came down, waited patiently, brought friends, shared kind words and showed Kyo’s so much love, thank you. Seeing the brand come to life beyond a screen was something special.

Thank you to every single person who came down, waited, supported us and shared the moment with us!

Seeing Kyo’s come to life like this and watching so many of you show up, try our matcha, meet the team and experience what we’ve been building was pretty surreal.

What started as an idea has slowly become something so much bigger and today made that feel very real.
