I’m Richard and I started Raayy SPF after being blindsided by a potential SCC skin cancer diagnosis just before I turned 50.
What hit me hardest was realising this hadn’t come from mass extreme sun exposure or lying on beaches for years. It had come from decades of ordinary UK life quietly adding up over time.
Playing and watching football. Sitting in beer gardens. Cycling. Playing cricket and golf. Walking the dog. Doing school runs. Sitting by windows. More recently watching my children train and play weekend matches in all weather, all year round.
Normal life here in the UK.
I’d never really connected those everyday moments with long-term skin damage risk until I started properly researching it through sources like the NHS, Melanoma UK and Skin Cancer UK. Then the statistics, alongside seeing both my father and father-in-law deal with facial skin cancer themselves, made it all feel very real very quickly.
At the same time, I think the daily SPF options on the market are too frustrating in my opinion. Too greasy. Heavy. Shiny. Leaving a horrible white cast. Options that simply don’t feel pleasant enough to engage with or to use consistently.
That felt like a major blocker to me because prevention only works if people actually want to use the product every day.
So I created Raayy.
A lightweight SPF50 daily moisturiser designed for real life in the UK - helping protect against the long-term silent ageing effects of UVA exposure year round, alongside the well-publicised UVB damage more associated with the warmer months.
Raayy is lightweight, non-greasy, hydrating, fast-absorbing, and formulated with hyaluronic acid and niacinamide to support daily skin hydration and barrier health.
Designed to sit invisibly on skin with no heavy SPF feel, no greasy shine, and no white cast - making it easy to wear every day for him and for her.
Broad-spectrum UVA + UVB protection.
5-star UVA rating.
Beard friendly.
Make-up friendly.
UK made.
Cruelty free.
Designed to make daily protection feel effortless. I believe that prevention beats repair so do your research and if you like what we’re about come say hello. Follow, & share with those who should see this.
