Lilac experiments have been plenty this month. I read that it did have some medicinal uses but the immediately forgot them. I used the syrup to make a rice pudding that didnt taste of the syrup at all, dont recommend. Mostly ive been drinking it like a cordial and thats delicious!

Have you seen Your Period Handbook? It feels like forever ago that I wrote it. It's about a third dedicated to anatomy of the menstrual cycle along with its emotional impacts, a third dedicated to recipes for simple ailments and a third dedicated to herbal monographs. It's intended as the most fundamental introduction to herbs for the menstrual cycle, which I fantasise will be on the national curriculum one day. One can dream! 💭

This is just part 1 of my new history posts series. I studied design history at Oxford for my masters and looking at how the contraceptive pill was designed is part of that. Im not particularly against hormonal contraceptive but I do wish we had more contraceptives for females that didnt involve radically changing our hormones.
