A year since we took on Chillis Galore!! A connection to Max’s childhood that fell into our laps on the very day of his mum’s memorial service last year. A legacy we are so honoured to carry forth. So much has happened… the highs & lows ❤️🔥
Learning to cook the beloved recipes with their founders…building out our own gorgeous commercial kitchen in just eight sleepless days of scouring Facebook Marketplace and winching anything & everything to our truck…the struggles to find the right team and those who have come & gone (shoutout to our absolutely wicked chefs now!)…the despair & elation of quarterly VAT returns…the pain of pouring out unworthy batches…the loss of Max’s grandad this June, who loved his Fruity Caribbean Hot Sauce with Thai food (preferably from Chai-Yo in Sheringham) 🕊️❤️🩹
We’ve managed to have plenty of fun in the meantime of course (what is running your own business for after all?)—though we haven’t taken quite as many surf trips this year as we would have liked. Above all we are so proud to be custodians of a 27-year-old brand and to move it forwards in a way that stays connected to its roots.
Last but not least, getting engaged! Loving each other while spending our lives & work intertwined is the greatest gift. Thank goodness we’ve literally got polar opposite skill sets…no crossover, no problem 😆
Thank you to all of our stunning friends who’ve cooked in our kitchen, worked in our market stalls, or modeled for us. We love you guys! We’re plotting many exciting things for this upcoming year…not least of which is our own little chilli farm, somewhere along the Norfolk coastline… 🌶️👨🌾
