A wild afternoon at New Dawn with the amazing team from Spirit of the Wild!

Service members had the chance to meet and interact with a range of incredible animals, including a snake, fruit bat, husky dog, skunk, owl and a rare chinchilla. The session focused on sensory engagement, confidence building and emotional development through animal therapy.

Ashley shared:

“I loved seeing the animals. I was brave today and got to hold a snake. I wasn’t scared anymore.”

It was fantastic to see everyone stepping outside their comfort zones, building confidence and enjoying such a unique experience. Thank you to Spirit of the Wild for such a memorable visit.

🌱 Growing Together at New Dawn 🌱

Our New Dawn members have been enjoying time at their allotment at , where they are nurturing a variety of fresh produce including potatoes, beetroot, tomatoes, grapes and rocket greens.

Gardening offers a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature while supporting wellbeing, teamwork and new skills. The vegetables grown will also be used in upcoming cooking lessons at The Tower Project, creating a meaningful link between outdoor activity and life skills.

Nadia shared, “I like gardening because it is very relaxing.” 🌼

Ru added, “We are growing vegetables to use in the cooking lessons at Tower Project. I can’t wait to try them.” 🥔🍅

It’s inspiring to see our members gaining confidence and pride through these hands-on experiences.
