Real density change, real journey.

Before → After: consistent in-clinic microneedling sessions, paired with a holistic at-home routine. Not overnight. Not invasive. Just consistent.

Because hair thinning is rarely just a scalp problem. It’s optimising blood results, balancing hormones, managing stress, nourishing from within and gentle, consistent care on the outside.

This is what happens when you treat the whole person, not just one aspect.

Hair loss + “normal” bloods is one of the most common things I see in clinic.

Here’s the problem: most labs flag ferritin as “normal” anywhere above 15μg/L. That’s enough to prevent anaemia, it’s not enough to grow hair.

Hair follicles are metabolically greedy. When iron stores drop, the body gets prioritised, so your follicles get starved long before your bloods look “abnormal.” Leading to hair shedding.

What I actually want to see for hair health:
→ Ferritin (storage form) ideally 70-100+ μg/L (not just “in range”)
→ Full iron studies, not just ferritin alone, transferrin saturation matters too
→ Context: heavy periods, recent pregnancy, diet, recent illness or gastric issues all deplete stores faster than they rebuild.

If you’ve been told your iron is “fine” but you’re still shedding, ask for the actual number, not just the flag.

Your HRT could be costing you far more than it needs to.

Each item on an NHS prescription usually costs £9.90.

If you’re on HRT, you might be collecting two, three, even four items each time you collect - oestrogen, progesterone, testosterone. That adds up fast.

What most women don’t know: there’s an HRT Prepayment Certificate (PPC) - a one-off annual payment of just £19.80 (the equivalent of two single prescription items) - that covers ALL your HRT prescriptions for the entire year.

That’s potentially hundreds of pounds saved, for the cost of two prescription items.

Ask your GP or pharmacist about the HRT PPC. Or google HRT PPC. You can apply online in minutes.

You deserve to know what you’re entitled to.

Menopause doesn’t just change your hormones. It changes your skin.

From perimenopause onwards, up to 30% of your skin’s collagen can be lost within the first five years. This is often why skin starts to feel thinner, loses its bounce, and fine lines and wrinkles become more visible.

The good news: this transition can be supported. A thoughtful diet, consistent movement, evidence-led supplements, the right skincare, and targeted in-clinic treatments can all help stimulate fibroblast activity and support your skin’s collagen.

As a doctor, this is something I see again and again in clinic. A patient isn’t responding to HRT oestrogen gel, so the dose gets increased - but no one has actually checked how it’s being applied.

Technique matters just as much as dose.

Here’s what I talk patients through, and the mistakes I see most often:

→ Applying with the hands, then washing them straight after. This can wash off some of the dose before it’s had time to absorb. Use the lid of the applicator provided, or apply using the inner forearms to inner thighs or opposite outer arm.
Apply as a thin layer.

→ Getting dressed before the gel has dried. Clothing can transfer the gel away from the skin. Let it air-dry fully, usually a few minutes, before covering the area. No need to massage in.

→ Using the wrong number of pumps/sachets. Doses are designed around a specific number, guessing or rounding off changes how much you’re actually absorbing.

→ Applying body cream or sun cream straight after. This can dilute the gel or speed up how quickly it’s absorbed/removed, affecting how much actually gets into your system. Apply at least one hour after application.

→ Showering or bathing straight after. Wait at least 1 hour after gel application before you have a bath, shower or swim.

Technique first. Dose second. If you’re not getting the response you expect, this is always worth checking before anything else.

Same skin. Different chapter. 🤍

For Acne Awareness month, I wanted to share a reminder I give my patients all the time: acne is treatable, not something you have to “just live with.”

Teenage acne is so common and so often dismissed as “just hormones, it’ll pass.”

Sometimes it does. But for a lot of teens, it doesn’t pass fast enough, and it chips away at confidence at exactly the age when that matters most.

This transformation is the result of a proper:
* Diagnosis
* Evidence-based treatments that work for acne and post inflammatory hyperpigmentation
* Time and consistency

If you are struggling, it’s worth a proper assessment. You don’t have to navigate it alone, and you don’t have to settle for guesswork.

📩 DM me or book a consult if you’re ready for a plan that’s actually built around you.

✨ Love what you do? I truly do. ✨

For me, medicine has never been just a job - it’s a calling, a privilege, and a source of deep joy.

Supporting my patients through their journeys is an honour, and feedback like this fills my heart with gratitude.

This remarkable woman has faced an incredibly challenging year - hormonal fluctuations, major life events, surgically induced menopause - a true rollercoaster of symptoms and emotions. Yet through it all, her courage shines.

Being heard, understood, and supported matters more than words can express. The trust my patients place in me, the way they share their vulnerabilities and allow me to walk alongside them - these are the moments that make every long day worthwhile.
