It all places an energetic cost on the body which requires elite level fuelling

London Marathon 26

Body comp change, acute drop in mass, GI issues, fuelling strategy and thoughts 💭

Intentionally didn’t lift a weight for 5 weeks, the focus was purely running

Probably lost a little upper body muscle mass but I was fine with this

Gut was a nightmare on all training runs, visits back home half way round or into bushes was frequent

Kept nutrition very clean leading into the race, minimal foods I wasn’t used to, high carbs and small fibre.

Stayed in hotel room to get a good nights sleep, unbroken, no Luca middle of the night bottle feed

4 toilet visits pre race and I was good to go and send it

Sub 3 the target but happy with the result

Can defo get into the 38s but happy with this

Very proud of the wife smashing her PB too
