Good morning, it's the weekend and another warm and dry day lies ahead for us here at The Mystical Cat shop in the Forest of Dean.

We were a little late opening the shop this morning as our alter ego from Leap Holistic Therapies was working with a client. However we are now fully open and ready for what the day brings us until we close around 4pm ish today.

Harts Barn Craft Centre is already bustling with people whether shopping in one of our onsite shops including us at The Mystical Cat, Miscellany and Quirk Vintage and Collectables, Crafty Upcycling, The Troll House, The Forest Larder, The Lavender Stone Florist, Broadlands Pottery, or Creative Needles, doing an activity at Harts Barn Cookery School, Broadlands Pottery or Wye Creative, being pampered at Anna Cole Beauty, Bridie Thorne Hairdressing, or Holistic Health Massage & Massage Trainer or eating at the Old Dairy Tearoom or a combination of all of the above. As always please note that each business has their own opening hours, and some are bookable in advance only services but Harts Barn is a beautiful location to pop by.

On that note we wish you a fabulous day. Just don't forget to wear sunscreen as it's a deceptively hot day, and ensure that you drink plenty of water as well as protecting any pets you have from the heat 🥵.

Good morning Mystical Cat followers, it's Friday 29th May....and June is around the corner 😱. It's a bit cooler today 🥳 and there was a blob or 2 of rain a short while ago with more forecast later today.

We had a very busy day yesterday....some of our invading Robins 🐦have been taken to new homes 🏡 and the amount we had is dwindling fast 🙌.

Of the delivery we received yesterday some of which has already been sold 🫣 so we will try to get more of the "pictured but sold" items back in soon. Some though we did order more than 1 of as they were already very popular 😊

At The Mystical Cat we are open today until around 4pm ish. There are other shops and services here at Harts Barn Craft Centre so plenty to see although as always remind you that the opening hours of others businesses many different from ours.

Good morning from us here at The Mystical Cat 👋

Another warm day is forecast today with a few clouds giving us some much needed respite from the very hot sunny 🌞 days we've just had.

Locally we did have an almighty storm last night with what started as loads of lightening ⚡️ and thunder 🌩 and initially no rain 🌧 before the heavens opened with a mighty deluge ⛈️ and many, many powercuts on and off for a period of time. No apparent evidence of it this morning though here at Harts Barn Craft Centre. There's lots of local chatter on FB about lost Internet access and houses genuinely vibrating with the loud thunder claps 😱 It was a brief respite and brought a bit of coolness along with large dose of sleeplessness 🥱!

Yesterday we were expecting 1 delivery in.....
which we got alongside a delivery that we weren't expecting quite yet 🤐 mostly of garden stake robins 🐦.....we really feel like we have been invaded now as we had so many in 🫣 but these have been very very popular and we know in a week or so most will be gone.

Also be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day.

And please, please, please ensure that you look after your animals in this heat, they need a shady spot and access to water...please dont leave them in a car and ideally don't take them for a walk when the weather is at it's hottest. Thank you 😊

So with the weather being a tad on the warmish side, it was pretty quiet yesterday but it did give us time to get a dinky delivery photographed and on sale from a new supplier as well as some little bits from elsewhere. You will see we couldn't make a decision so ended up with over a dozen new items and only one of each 🫣 we hope you like 😊

We have another delivery due in today which includes suncatchers, hand fans as well as a few others bits which we'll share with you tomorrow.

There are a fair few more people around already today, many regular Wednesday visitors in the Old Dairy Tearoom (yes we've got our coffee ☕️ and in this weather we also partake in Ice Cream O'clock later this afternoon 😋) There is family cookery lessons going on in Harts Barn Cookery School and you can buy their own made products as well as other local fair at The Forest Larder. The Lavender Stone Florist is busy with her flowers and plants, Miscellany and Quirk Vintage and Collectables and The Troll House are already open on the main terrace with other shops and services also available onsite. As always we'd remind you that shops and services have their own opening hours so if you're after somethinv specific please visit their own FB pages.

Good morning it's another hot 🔥 hot 🥵 hot 🔥 day today here at The Mystical Cat. It's the start of our working week. It's half term week so for a change for a school holiday, the weather is supposed to be relatively good all week with an odd brief rainstormy spell on a few days.. we shall see if that actually materialises.

We think it should go without saying that during this heatwave please ensure your animals are safe and have access to shade and water, and please don't take dogs for a walk at the hottest part of the day....apparently we hit the hottest time around 3pm ish.

And also it go without saying that all human kids d need to slather on that sub cream, drink plenty of water and wear a hat or stay in a cooler area. There is a high risk of heat stroke for people especially those that are vulnerable so please take care.

Our shop, The Mystical Cat is probably one of the coldest onsite, it's this time of year when our chilly unit is somehow very popular, even without air movement it is still quite warm though! We are open all day until around 4pm so look forward to seeing some of our local regulars as well as welcoming some of our holidaying visitors to the site.

As for this week, we have a few deliveries organised for this week 🤞 including some more of the very popular outdoor robin stakes, bird feeders & baths and a lot more besides 😀.

Dont forget if you are after something specific that would normally fit in our shop ie mystical, mythical, magical or spiritual, then we may be able to order something for you AND yes we do deliver for an additional fee, to anywhere that has a delivery service. There are a few exclusions to this although if you want to pay any tariffs or surcharges, we can try and make it happen....AND yes we reserve items that we have for a limited period if you can't make it in for a little while.....you just need to ask!

Happy Sunday Everyone! 🖤

What an amazing bank holiday weekend Yay! for all this glorious sunshine 🌞 I was in the woods at 8am this morn so Joey had a lovely cool walk and the birdsong was breathtaking!

Today I'd like to show you my beautiful 'Bluebell' hare. Whilst the bluebells in the forest have mostly gone over now this little sweetie will bloom unashamedly for quite a few years to come! Hand burnt and hand painted on Birch wood, adorned with the loveliest of dangles handmade from recycled beads then to finish a crystal droplet which looks magnificently gorgeous in the sunlight 🖤
She's already nestled in The Mystical Cat at Harts Barn Craft Centre in Longhope if you'd like to pay her a visit 😉

Good morning its Sunday 24th May 2026 and another hot, hot, hot day today 🌞🥵 The Mystical Cat is open all day until around 4pm and for those that know our little shop is one of the coolest 🥶 and coolest 😎 in our opinion at Harts Barn Craft Centre 😂.

Some of Harts Barn Cookery School are at the Food Festival at Speech House today however they are open here at Harts Barn as well with a cookery class already running and their food & drink shop The Forest Larder being open from 11am this morning.

The Old Dairy Tearoom is also open and yes, we have our regular coffee ☕️ in hand as we write this post. Also currently open is The Lavender Stone Florist with all of her beautiful flowers 💐 and plants 🪴 with Miscellany and Quirk Vintage and Collectables also here.

It's still fairly early on a Sunday but there are already a fair few people around this morning. Pop down and see what we have to offer onsite today here at Harts Barn Craft Centre on the main road between Longhope and Mitcheldean in the glorious Forest of Dean.

We got in early this morning to treat ourselves 😁 -
a huge thank you to Nikita at Anna Cole Beauty for my gorgeous galactic nails 💅.

It's certainly great to have such diverse businesses here onsite at Harts Barn Craft Centre and well worth booking a treat for yourself at either at Anna's beauty (they have lots of different treatments not just nails), at Bridie Thorne Hairdressing, Holistic Health Massage & Massage Trainer, Leap Holistic Therapies (our alter ego) or at Release Holistics.

Lots of other shops and services are also open today in addition to our little shop The Mystical Cat, the Old Dairy Tearoom, The Lavender Stone Florist , Harts Barn Cookery School, The Forest Larder, Broadlands Pottery, as well as Chaos & Clarity, Crafty Upcycling, Miscellany and Quirk Vintage and Collectables, The Troll House, Creative Needles, Riverwood - Artisan Bridalwear, and Wye Creative.

Please bear in mind that shops and services have different opening times - please check their own FB pages for details.

Yesterday we had a delivery of some much requested doormats and some other bits and pieces that have been out of stock for a while...and tbh some was selling straight out of the box 📦. If you see something you like please message us to reserve (for a limited period) or pop down to us at the shop at Harts Barn.

Good morning Mystical Cat followers. It's Friday 22nd May and another weekend is almost upon us 🙌 and to celebrate this the sun 🌞 has decided to make an early appearance today. The courtyard is looking ready for the sun and people visiting today and a lot of the shops are already open 😁

The forecast suggests its going to be a warm day as well so out with the sun cream, hats and all things to protect your skin....and don't forget to protect your pets as well 👌

Yesterday we had a delivery in of all sold out stock (see pics 📸) and we will be getting a delivery today of some new doormats as well as our favourite now back in stock dreamcatchers and a few other bits that are very very popular 😀

We will be open until at least 4pm today; and then we are in Saturday and Sunday before closing Monday for our one and only day off (yes, we know it's a Bank Holiday but we do need some of our own time off as well!).

Good morning, it's Groundhog Day.....well not really but as followers of The Mystical Cat will know yesterday we decided it was today and posted about 21 May when in fact it's today that is the 21 May.... confused? Live in our brain🧠 for a bit and you'll be very confused 🫤 😂

So today is International Tea Day 🫖 so make sure you enjoy a good brew 😉. You can check out yesterday's post when I shared loads on this special day 😁

Today we have at least 1 delivery in of some much loved and fast selling items AND there is an order for some more later this week...this includes those much requested door mats 😊

It's looking a little gloomy so far today although allegedly it's going to get warmer in the next few days.

We are open here at Harts Barn Craft Centre until 4pm today and then every day up to and including Sunday. We will be closed on Bank Holiday - Monday is our usual and only day off so we'll be taking a breath ourselves that day.
