🌞 Beat the Heat in Cornwall This Bank Holiday Weekend! 🌞

Cornwall is gearing up for a sizzling bank holiday weekend with a heat wave rolling in! Whether you're a local or just visiting, it's crucial to stay cool and safe amidst the soaring temperatures.

- 💧 Stay Hydrated: Carry a reusable water bottle and drink water regularly, even if you don't feel thirsty. Your body will thank you later!

- 🧴 Sun Protection: Lather up with sunscreen, wear a wide-brimmed hat, and rock those sunglasses to shield yourself from harmful UV rays.

- 🌳 Seek Shade: Take breaks under trees or umbrellas to avoid prolonged sun exposure. Your skin will appreciate the break!

- 🧊 Cool Down: Enjoy a refreshing ice cream or find a local café with air conditioning for a quick cooldown.

With everyone flocking to Cornwall's beautiful beaches, let's ensure our loved ones and ourselves stay safe.

Heading to the beach in the nice weather? Watch out for weever fish! 🐟

If you get stung-

DO:
➡️ rinse the affected area with seawater (not fresh water)
➡️ remove any spines from the skin using tweezers or the edge of a bank card
soak the area in very warm water (as hot as can be tolerated) for at least 30 minutes – use hot flannels or towels if you cannot soak it
➡️ take painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen if medically suitable

DON’T:
➡️ do not p*e on the sting
➡️ do not apply ice or a cold pack
➡️ do not touch any tentacles or spines with your bare hands
➡️ do not cover or close the wound
