⚠️ If you come across someone having a seizure in public, please don’t panic — here’s how you can help ⚠️

If you ever see someone having a seizure, there is a chance they suffer from epilepsy, this is what to do:

✅ Stay calm
✅ Gently guide the patient to the ground if they are standing
✅ Put something soft under their head
✅ Move anything dangerous away from them
✅ Loosen tight clothing around their neck
✅ Time the seizure if you can

❌ Do NOT hold them down
❌ Do NOT put anything in their mouth
❌ Do NOT give them food or drink during the seizure

⏱️ Call an ambulance if:

- The seizure lasts longer than 5 minutes
- They have another seizure straight after
- They are injured
- It’s their first seizure (or you’re unsure)

💤 After the seizure:

- Roll them onto their side (recovery position)
- Stay with them until they are fully aware
- Speak calmly and reassure the patient.

Returned Medicines
PLEASE when returning used medicines to the pharmacy do not include the following...

Any Needles lancets or other sharps
(These are collected by Cornwall Council if you call this number 0300 1234 141)

Toiletries and personal items that could go in your black sack.
Empty blisters or containers
Plastic medicine dossets
Any leg bags, ostomy products or unmedicated dressings.
This can all go in your black bags

If you have any glucose meters or blood reading machines, please dispose of these appropriately.

We have limited collections each month which are specifically for medicines.

Help us reduce waste and cost of wastage by only ordering what you need!

These figures are probably well out of date now ( this was posted 9yrs ago) but the concept is still the same!!....

I understand the concept of this poster, but I feel it's not the prime costs for the NHS.
I can easily break down and destroy enough returned medicines in two carrier bags to match those costs!
The amount of wastage in over ordering repeat prescription items and retuning unwanted meds to the pharmacy is appalling.
Please only order the repeat prescriptions items you require, not the ones you were taken off 3 months ago. Check before you leave the Pharmacy that you need it all. If it hasn't left the building it can be reused, once you've left with it, it has to be destroyed if it's not required.
