Sometimes the goal is simply to fade the old tattoo enough to give your tattoo artist more freedom with the new one.

A dark or heavily saturated tattoo can limit what an artist can successfully put over it. By breaking down some of that existing ink first, we can create a lighter canvas for your artist to work with.

And that can mean more choice over:

✨ The new design
✨ The colours
✨ The placement
✨ How much of the old tattoo needs disguising

You may only need a few laser sessions rather than going through the full removal process.

So if you still love tattoos but you've outgrown that tattoo, don't assume your only choices are living with it or removing it completely.

There could be a third option.

Fade it. Then create something you actually want.

Already have a cover-up in mind? Speak to your tattoo artist about how much fading they'd ideally like, then come and have a chat with us.

"But how much is it actually going to cost me?"

It's one of the first questions people have about tattoo removal. And completely understandably.

That's why you'll find our treatment prices right there on the Rethink Me website.

Your price will largely depend on the size of the area being treated, so you can measure your tattoo and get a rough idea of what you'd be looking at before you've even spoken to us.

As a guide, our current prices are availalbe online

For particularly large or more complex areas, we'll price your treatment individually.

Of course, the total cost of removing a tattoo is harder to predict because we won't know exactly how many sessions you'll need until we've assessed it and seen how your body responds.

But at least you can get a realistic idea of the cost of each session before you start.

No mystery pricing. No awkward "how much?" conversation.

Have a look at our prices online, then if you're ready to find out what's possible with your tattoo, book your free consultation. I'll drop the link below.

Why does eyebrow pigment behave differently? 👀

Ever noticed old semi-permanent brows turning grey, red, orange or even slightly blue over time?

There's a reason for that.

PMU pigments are different from traditional tattoo inks. They're generally placed more superficially in the skin and can contain a blend of different pigments designed to create a natural brow shade.

As the pigment fades, those different components don't always fade at the same rate.

That's why brows that started as a lovely warm brown can gradually change colour as the years pass.

And it matters when we're removing them too.

Laser treatment needs to take into account the pigment that's actually sitting in the skin now, not simply the colour your brows were when you first had them done.

In some cases, certain cosmetic pigments can even darken after laser treatment because of ingredients within the pigment. That's why assessment and, where appropriate, a test patch are so important before starting treatment.

Sometimes the aim is full removal.

Sometimes we simply need to clear enough of that old, faded pigment to give your PMU artist a cleaner canvas for a fresh set of brows.

Got old PMU that's changed colour or no longer suits you?

Come and let us have a look.

Sometimes, the best thing I can do for your tattoo removal results is tell you to wait.

Even if your skin looks completely healed and you're ready for your next session, I may suggest giving it another few weeks.

Why?

Because the laser has already done its job. It’s broken the ink down into smaller particles.

Now your body needs time to do its bit.

Your immune system continues clearing those ink particles in the weeks after treatment, which means your tattoo can carry on fading even when we haven't touched it with a laser.

Going again too soon doesn't necessarily mean faster removal.

Sometimes giving your body another four weeks to work can be far more beneficial than squeezing in another session.

And that's why your treatment schedule shouldn't simply be based on a calendar.

I'll look at how your tattoo is fading, how your skin has recovered and how you've responded to previous sessions before deciding when we go again.

Tattoo removal is a process.

More laser doesn't always mean better results. Sometimes, more time does

Choosing where to have laser tattoo removal shouldn't come down to whoever has the cheapest offer.

You're trusting someone with your skin.

Ask questions.
Ask about their training.
Ask what laser they're using.
Look at their own results.
And be wary of anyone promising exactly how many sessions it'll take before they've even assessed your tattoo.

A good technician won't mind you asking.

In fact, we'd rather you did.

We've put together a few things we'd recommend checking before you choose any tattoo removal clinic — including ours.

When it comes to laser tattoo removal, there's no shortage of myths.

The problem? Believing them could stop you getting the results you're hoping for.

Here are our top 6.

❌ Myth #1: New tattoos can't be removed.
❌ Myth #2: Laser tattoo removal always leaves a scar.
❌ Myth #3: It only takes one session.
❌ Myth #4: Tattoo removal takes forever.
❌ Myth #5: Laser doesn't work on coloured tattoos.
❌ Myth #6: Once you've got a tattoo, you're stuck with it forever.

The truth is, every tattoo is different. Factors like the ink colour, age of the tattoo, where it's located and how your body heals all play a part in your tattoo removal journey.

Swipe through to separate fact from fiction.

Everyone wants to know if there's a way to make tattoo removal happen faster.

The truth is... you can't rush biology.

The laser breaks the ink apart, but it's your immune system that does the hard work of clearing it away over the weeks that follow. That's why what you do between sessions really matters.

Here are five simple ways to give your body the best chance of achieving great results:

💧 Stay hydrated
Good hydration supports your body's natural healing and clearance processes.

🏃 Keep moving
Regular exercise helps improve circulation and lymphatic flow, which play a role in removing the broken-down ink.

🥗 Look after your health
Eating well and getting enough sleep helps keep your immune system working at its best.

☀️ Protect the area from the sun
Sun exposure can make treatment more difficult and may mean we need to use gentler settings. Keeping the area protected helps us treat it more effectively.

⏳ Trust the process
One of the biggest mistakes people make is wanting treatments too close together. Your body needs time to clear the shattered ink before your next session. Often, waiting a little longer leads to better fading.

There isn't a magic shortcut.

But healthy habits, good aftercare and a little patience can all help you get the best possible outcome.

One of the questions we're asked most often is...

"When will I start seeing results?"

The honest answer? You'll usually notice some fading after your first few sessions, but laser tattoo removal isn't an overnight fix.

Here's why.

The laser doesn't make your tattoo disappear there and then. Its job is to break the ink into tiny particles. After that, your immune system takes over, gradually flushing those particles away through your body's natural processes.

That's why every tattoo removal journey is different.

Your results depend on factors such as:
🖤 The age of your tattoo
🖤 The colours used
🖤 The depth and density of the ink
🖤 Where it's located on your body
🖤 Your overall health and lifestyle

The most important thing is to trust the process.

The laser starts the job. Your body finishes it.

With patience, consistency and the right aftercare, you'll see your tattoo gradually become lighter with each stage of your journey.

Think you're stuck with that old tattoo forever?

You're not.

But here's something most people don't realise...

The laser doesn't actually remove your tattoo.

Your body does.

Here's how it works.

The laser breaks the tattoo ink into tiny particles.

Once those particles are small enough, your immune system gradually carries them away.

That's why I always tell my clients...

It takes two to tango.

The laser starts the process.

Your body finishes it.

When most people think about laser tattoo removal, they picture sleeves, names on wrists or large back pieces.

But facial tattoo removal is becoming increasingly common.

From semi-permanent eyebrows that have faded to blue, grey or red, to lip liner that no longer suits you, unwanted beauty spots or small facial tattoos, treatment can help you move forward with confidence.

Because the face has an excellent blood supply, it often heals very well when treated with the correct laser and settings. Every treatment is carefully tailored to your skin, your pigment and your goals.

For some people, the aim is complete removal.

For others, it's simply enough fading to make way for fresh brows or a new cosmetic tattoo.

Whatever your reason, you don't have to live with something that no longer feels like you.

If you've been wondering whether laser tattoo removal is an option for your face, we'd be happy to answer your questions.
