Louth Foot Health Centre Keeping feet healthy for over 30 years. Louth Foot Health Centre has occupied its current premises since the late 1980's. It was established by Richard E.

Long ,who qualified as a surgical chiropodist in December 1956 and his certificates can still be seen in the archive area of the practice. Richard always wanted one of his two daughters to follow him and in 2005 his eldest daughter, Helen joined him. His other daughter also went into healthcare as a Medical Herbalist and Psychologist. Richard and Helen both trained at the prestigious SMAE Institut

e, founded in 1919 it is the only establishment in the UK to run a University Credit rated Foot Health Course. Richard stopped working in 2009 due to ill health, a mere 53 years after qualifying. Helen is proud to continue the family profession using all the knowledge gained from her father over the years.

Just waiting to join my professional Institutes virtual summer school. This is all part of CPD ( continued professional development) ongoing knowledge gaining.
Previously it was a 2 day event which was a day hike to Maidenhead and a day back, plus accommodation etc taking time away from practice....it will be interesting to see how this goes!

The perils of not checking the soles of your shoes particularly if you have reduced feeling in your feet!
This patient presented with an infection that had been caused by the sole of their shoe breaking down and grit the size of peas(3 pieces)working through and under the insole. This patient puts all of their body weight through this particular part of their foot, due to anatomical changes in their lower leg.
Needless to say, they are going shopping for new shoes today.👞👞😊

A 'Thank you' from earlier this month.
We always feel sad when we treat a patient for the last time, particularly after many years, when patients become more like friends.
So, thank you Eddie, Kirstie and Sienna for your generous gifts. We hope Eddie that you are settling in at your new home and you are welcome to pop and see us any time you are back in town.
P.S. The flowers are still going strong, despite the ridiculously high temperatures in my clinic room recently.
