Bowel cancer is one of the most common types of cancer in the UK, but when it's found early, it's much easier to treat. That's why the NHS offers bowel cancer screening to people who are eligible. 💩

The screening test is simple, quick and can be done in the privacy of your own home. It looks for tiny amounts of blood in your poo that you may not be able to see yourself. 🏠

If you receive your bowel cancer screening kit through the post, don't put it to one side – complete it and return it as soon as you can. Even if you feel fit and healthy and have no symptoms, taking part in screening can help detect problems early. ✅

If you notice symptoms such as blood in your poo, a persistent change in your bowel habits, unexplained weight loss or ongoing tummy pain, don't wait for your screening invitation—contact your GP. 📞

Taking a few minutes to complete your test could make all the difference. 💙

Andy’s Man Club is a free, peer-to-peer support group for men aged 18+, providing a safe and open environment where you can talk about whatever you’re facing - big or small. 🤝

Men come together to share experiences, listen, and support one another without judgement. You don’t have to speak if you don’t want to, and there is no pressure - some men simply listen at first, and that’s okay.

Groups meet every Monday at 7pm (excluding Bank Holidays) at locations across the UK, with all clubs following the same supportive format and guidelines.

Over the next few days we will be sending out invites to clinics for Flu and Covid in October - please use the link (if you can) to book your appointment with us.

As the poster states there are 3 options for booking this year:
1. Saturday clinics 8am-12pm
2. Tuesday Evening Clinics (6.30pm-7:50pm)
3. Daytime Clinics (these slots are limited)

The clinics are all on the link and you can choose any to book into that are convenient, NO further clinics will be added until these have been utilised.

Homebound patients will be contacted to ensure they wish to have the vaccinations.

Should you not want these vaccinations, please let the surgery know so you are not included in the invites, thank you.

Today we have been informed that East Suffolk Council will be able to take Purple Lidded Sharps Bins for patients.

You will ring the council on 0333 016 2000 and they will be able to organise a roadside pick up for you.

This week is 'KNOW YOUR NUMBERS' for Blood Pressure Awareness.

This week is all about knowing about your blood pressure and how to stop it becoming elevated which can then bring on more complications.

Because high blood pressure usually has no symptoms, the first sign of it could be a heart attack or stroke. It can cause kidney disease, dementia and other illnesses too. But these tragedies can be prevented with medications and lifestyle changes.
