Big news from our friends at Planton Farm 🥚🌱
Their eggs are still the same delicious, local, organic eggs you know and love — but they’ve made an important change to their farming approach, and we wanted to share the story behind it.
At Planton Farm, they now raise the “brothers too.”
In most commercial egg production, male chicks are culled shortly after hatching because they can’t lay eggs and aren’t bred for meat.
Planton Farm believes there’s a better way.
Using dual-purpose breeds, both hens and their brothers are given a valued place on the farm: 🐔 Hens grow up to lay beautiful organic eggs
🌿 Male chicks are raised naturally on pasture with high welfare standards
Their chickens roam freely, forage naturally, and are moved regularly to fresh pasture — supporting biodiversity, soil health, and regenerative farming practices.
