There’s nothing quite like seeing a child completely relax.

One of the things I love most about working with children is watching their confidence grow with each session. What often starts as curiosity soon becomes a familiar part of their routine, and many children look forward to their appointments.

Creating a space where they can switch off, unwind, and simply be themselves is such a privilege.
Every child is unique, but it’s always wonderful to see them settle in and enjoy the experience.

You may or may not know that I'm a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
What does that actually mean?
For me, it means continuing to learn, keeping up to date with professional standards, and being part of a recognised professional body that supports therapists in their work.
For you, it means knowing that I'm fully insured, committed to ongoing professional development, and always looking for ways to provide the best possible support for my clients.
It may also be useful to know that many private healthcare providers recognise FHT membership. If you have private health insurance and are considering reflexology, it's worth checking with your insurer to see whether your policy includes cover for treatment. If so, I can provide my FHT membership number to support your claim.
It's just one of the ways I invest in my business and the people I work with.

Joy in June ☀️
This month, I’m setting myself a little challenge: to intentionally grow and expand the joy in my life.
We often spend so much time focusing on what's wrong, what's missing, or what needs fixed that we forget to notice all the things that are already bringing us happiness.
So for the month of June, I'm going to keep a record of the things that bring me joy. Maybe it's one thing a day, maybe it's ten. There are no rules. The important thing is taking the time to notice them.
After all, energy follows thought. What we focus on tends to grow.
So why not spend this month focusing on joy?

Summer in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is characterized by the most Yang energy of the year. The days are long, the sun is shining bright, and the world around us is fully alive. This is the season of abundance, joy, expression, and movement. It’s a time to be active, creative, and to connect both with others and with ourselves.
Summer corresponds to the Fire element and is governed by four meridians: the Heart, Pericardium, San Jiao (Triple Burner), and Small Intestine. These organs work together to govern circulation, connection, and transformation, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

I haven’t been showing up here as much this year… and I want to share why.
Truthfully, I haven’t felt called to. I felt like productivity for social media was over taking purpose of the work I love. Through acknowledging this
I’ve taken a step back from social media and the pressure to post just for the sake of being seen. That way of showing up didn’t feel aligned for me anymore. And if you know me, you’ll know that authenticity is something I hold deeply. It’s not something I’m willing to compromise — not for visibility, approval, or at the cost of my self-worth or integrity.
That doesn’t mean I’ve disappeared.
In fact, for this past 6months I’ve been turning inward.
Spending time in reflection. Moving through layers.
Having honest conversations with myself. Allowing what needs to rise, to be seen, processed, and released.
Alongside this, I’ve also been quietly working away on a few new things behind the scenes… things that are bringing me a deep sense of joy and alignment.
I’m really looking forward to sharing them with you when the time feels right.
I know this time is important,
Because the more I meet myself in these spaces, the more grounded and present I can be in the work I offer to others.
So while it may appear I have been quiet here… behind the scenes, I’ve been deeply engaged in what I love — holding space, supporting, creating, and continuing to grow.
I’m still here.
And when the time comes, and I feel ready to return to sharing more regularly, I’ll welcome that space again too — in a way that feels aligned and true to me.
And when you feel ready — when something within you is calling for support, clarity, or change — you can reach me in all the usual ways.

Many women and mothers live with nervous system overwhelm without ever naming it or knowing what to call it.
They keep going, adapting, holding it all together — even when their body is asking for, screaming for something different. Only to put themselves on hold, to the bottom of the list.
This is something I’ve experienced myself, and it can be so hard getting out of that loop.
Recognition is often the first step.

This week inside Michelle McGleenan Balanced Health, I’ve been really happy to be able to hold space for clients with a variety of issues.
Here are just five things that have been supported this week:
Anxiety- helping nervous systems feel safer and more regulated.
Stress & overwhelm- supporting the body to move out of constant mental pressure & chatter
Fibromyalgia- tuning into what the body is holding onto.
Grief- offering space for emotions the body is still processing
Back pain- looking beyond the physical discomfort to the stress patterns underneath

Every session is different, because every body communicates differently. The intention is always to offer support that is body-led, respectful and aligned with what their system is ready for.
