Roaming Spirit Yoga Retreats

Roaming Spirit Yoga Retreats Creating space to rest, reconnect & roam freel. Meaningful escapes in beautiful places If I were to have a mission it would be….. About Me

Hi, I’m Maria…..

Here's a bit about Roaming Spirit Yoga Retreats

I’ve been running retreats since 2013 these were previously in France at my own property and in the UK at various locations. After a few changes to my personal circumstances which felt like a new beginning I decided to also give the company a fresh look. So Tranquillite Retreats become Roaming Spirit Retreats with a focus on Yoga, Nature and Communi

ty. I’ve always loved bringing people together on retreat it offers an opportunity for everyone to relax and focus on themselves for a few days. Yoga really is self-care, a chance to check in and notice how you are doing. Being on retreat means you have the time and space to catch up with yourself, this could be having a chance to rest and reflect, the time to do something you love or discovering a new pursuit. To create yoga retreat experiences that are fun, nurturing, inclusive and collective helping to improve your well-being and connect to a deeper sense of self. I’ve been teaching Yoga since 2011 and practicing since 1996. My own experience with Yoga has been a very positive one and it’s left me quite enthusiastic about spreading the word and passing on what I’ve discovered to others. My other pursuit is to be outside in nature, I love walking, foraging, climbing and paddle boarding. I think growing up on a farm probably had an effect on me as I find being outdoors very healing. Although I’m happy to do all of this alone there is something very special about sharing this with a group as I feel it connects us to each other and more importantly back to the earth. I hope to bring all of this (and me) to the retreats so you can encounter the benefits of yoga, nature and community collectively.

Out for a morning walk and thought I'd share a little update. 🌿

It's been a while since I've done a video, but I'm really looking forward to heading back to the Alps in a few weeks' time and getting retreat season underway.

I've also added next year's Alps retreat dates to the website, and the Autumn Equinox Retreat Day in Anglesey is now open for bookings, with the early bird offer ending on 5th July.

Wishing everyone a lovely Summer Solstice weekend. ☀️

Most people who come on our retreats arrive not knowing anyone.

By the end of the weekend they're making plans to meet up again☺️

That's probably my favourite thing about running retreats.
The yoga and walks are lovelyl. But the connections people make are what stay with them.

I've got two UK retreats coming up:

🍂 Snowdonia | 13th –16th November

🌿 Peak District | 9th–12th April

If you've been thinking about joining a retreat but feel nervous about coming alone, please know that most people do.

Send me a message and I'll happily answer any of your retreat questions 🙏🏼

Listening to What We Need 🤍

This weekend, I found myself needing exactly that.

After a slightly more demanding week than usual, I recognised a need to pause. Sometimes the hardest thing isn't knowing what to do, but simply noticing what we need before we become quietly overwhelmed by it.

I had my heart set on a dip in the sea, but the tide unfortunately had other ideas. So my partner suggested a lake dip instead, and it turned out to be just what I needed.

Getting into cold water is never particularly comfortable, but something shifts when you settle into it. The breath becomes steadier, your attention narrows to the present moment, and your nervous system seems to find its way back to balance.

I have to say, the person who stepped into the water wasn't quite the same person who came out🤩

The shift felt almost instant, leaving me feeling lighter, calmer and much more like myself again.

Nature has a brilliant way of bringing us back to ourselves.

Cold water isn't for everyone, and it should always be approached carefully and safely, but it reminded me just how quickly we can support our nervous system when we step outside, connect with nature and give ourselves permission to simply be.

❄️ A few fascinating cold-water facts:

• It can help regulate the nervous system and improve resilience to stress
• It encourages slower, deeper breathing.
• It may boost mood through the release of dopamine and endorphins.
• It can help us reconnect with the present moment.
• You don't need to stay in long to experience the benefits. • Nature amplifies the effect – the water is only part of the experience.

We spend so much of life trying to avoid discomfort. Yet sometimes stepping towards it reminds us just how resilient we really are.
