Back to the early days.

This photo captures one of the first fundraising efforts in the early 1980s, a tandem relay cycle ride from Stroud to Thornbury.

Pictured are Louise Graham (second from left), now Chair of the Board of Trustees of Spencer Dayman Meningitis Research, alongside friends who helped make it happen. Steve Dayman is second from the right.

At the time, this was part of the Motorway Meningitis Research Appeal, the first charity in the UK named after the truck stop the Dayman family ran.

Simple ideas. Determined people. And the very beginnings of something much bigger.

The story continues.

44. the research goes on.
