One thing we’ve noticed over the years is just how deeply our horses respond to sound and vibration.

Whether it’s somebody quietly playing guitar in the field, gentle humming, drumming, or our EquiSound sessions with the crystal singing bowls in the round pen… the herd are always drawn in.

People often think horses only respond to touch or movement, but they are incredibly sensitive to frequency, energy and nervous system shifts. You can literally watch them soften, yawn, lower their heads, blink slowly and regulate alongside the sound.

During our EquiSound sessions, there are moments where the horses choose to step closer and stand completely still as the bowls are played.

No ropes.
No pressure.
Just choice.
And that’s the fascinating part.

Sound carries vibration through the body, and horses are masters at reading vibration. They live through feeling.

Through rhythm.
Through sensing what’s underneath words.

For us, it’s never about “performing healing.” It’s about creating an environment where both humans and horses can be together on the same frequency and level.

There’s something incredibly powerful about sitting in the round pen with the bowls playing softly, or the guitar playing the herd breathing nearby, and feeling your whole body begin to slow down.
The horses remind us that regulation doesn’t always come through talking.

Sometimes it comes through resonance.

There’s something really special about the week before a retreat here at The Way of the Horse 🤍

The quiet preparation begins…

The land gets a little extra attention.
The horses seem to know something meaningful is coming.
The journals come out.
The blankets get folded.
The pantry starts filling with homemade food.
The sound bowls are unpacked.

And slowly, the space begins to feel ready to hold people.

What many people don’t see is how much love goes into creating these days.

This isn’t just “an event” to us.

It’s creating a safe space for people to breathe again.

To step away from the noise.
To reconnect with themselves.
To sit beside horses without pressure or expectation.
To regulate.

Reflect.
Release.
Reset.

As we prepare for next weekend’s retreat, I find myself feeling incredibly grateful.

Grateful for this land.
Grateful for the herd.
Grateful for the people choosing to come here and trust the process.

And grateful that something which started as a dream all those years ago is now becoming a reality we get to share with others.

There’s a softness in these retreat days that’s hard to explain unless you’ve experienced it.

And honestly?
I think we all need a little more softness right now.

One thing the horses have taught me…

You cannot be in survival mode forever.
At some point, the nervous system needs softness.
Rest.
Safety.
Slowness.
Space to breathe again.

For years I thought pushing harder was strength.
Holding everything together was strength.
Never stopping was strength.

But healing has looked very different for me lately.

Healing has looked like:
sitting quietly with the herd,
asking for help,
letting staff support the vision,
listening to my body,
and understanding that exhaustion isn’t something to wear like a badge of honour.

The horses don’t rush healing.
Nature doesn’t rush healing.

And maybe we weren’t supposed to either.
Sometimes the bravest thing we can do is stop forcing and start listening.

Some of the most important progress in life happens when nobody is watching.

The quiet mornings.
The small acts of discipline.
The moments you choose to keep going, even when the results haven't appeared yet.

Success isn't always found in dramatic breakthroughs.

Often, it's built through consistency.

Every step you take today matters.
Every lesson you learn matters.
Every effort you make matters.

Trust the process, even when the path feels slow.

The oak tree doesn't grow overnight.
The strongest horses aren't trained in a day.
And the life you're building is taking shape with every choice you make.

✨ Be patient with your progress.
✨ Stay committed to your vision.
✨ Keep moving forward.

What feels small today may become the foundation of something extraordinary tomorrow.

Happy Sunday. Make today count. 💛

This week celebrates 11 years in business.

11 years of ups and downs.
11 years of rebuilding, starting again, moving yards, learning lessons the hard way and refusing to give up on a dream that actually started over 25 years ago.

There were moments where I genuinely didn’t know if we would make it.
Moments where the stress, exhaustion, financial pressure and responsibility felt overwhelming. Moments where it would have been far easier to walk away and choose a “normal” life.

But something in me kept going back to the horses.
Back to the vision.
Back to that feeling that this work mattered.

What started as a deep love for horses slowly became something much bigger… a place where people could come to breathe again, regulate their nervous systems, reconnect with themselves and feel safe enough to just be human.

Over the years we’ve worked with hundreds of people and horses. We’ve watched children who couldn’t step into school begin to smile again. We’ve held space for trauma, grief, healing, burnout, growth and transformation. We’ve created retreats, training programmes, community projects, HAF sessions, EquiSound, The Pantry and experiences that honestly didn’t even exist in my imagination when this all began.

And behind all of that has been resilience.

Not perfection.
Not having loads of money.
Not having everything figured out.

Just continuing to take one step after another even when things felt impossible.

This business was never built overnight.
It was built through persistence, belief, heartbreak, courage, long days, tears, tiny wins and horses who kept reminding me why I started in the first place.

So today I just feel grateful.
Grateful for every client, every supporter, every member of staff, every volunteer, every person who shared a post, booked a session, believed in us or stood beside us through the hard seasons.

And most of all… grateful to the horses.
Because without them, none of this would exist. I love my job, My life , my shared space with some special people in my life right now and of course the amazing family I have with the horses, my rocks , my soul mates, my best friends and I am forever grateful of Black Beauty when I was 7 years old that fed my soul to love these magestic animals .

Here’s to 11 years of The Way of the Horse… and whatever comes next.

The horses always know.

Before we even begin our EquiSound sessions, they start gathering near the round pen as if they already recognise what’s coming. The sound bowls come out, the space becomes quieter, slower… and the herd soften almost instantly.

People are often surprised by how much the horses love it.
But when you spend time around them, it actually makes perfect sense.

Horses are deeply attuned to vibration. They feel the slightest shift in breathing, tension, emotion and energy. So when the frequencies from the bowls move through the space, you can see the horses responding in real time.

Some stand close with their eyes half closed.
Some yawn and release tension.
Some move around the outside of the pen before slowly settling into stillness.

Nothing is forced. They are completely free to walk away… yet so often they choose to stay.

There’s something incredibly humbling about sitting alongside a thousand-pound animal while sound fills the space and everybody — human and horse alike — begins to regulate together.

In a world that constantly pushes us to go faster, the horses keep teaching us the same lesson over and over again…

Slow down.
Breathe deeper.
Feel more, and be in your body more..

And maybe healing doesn’t always need words. 🤍

The horses always know.

13/06/2026

There was something really beautiful about today.

Kai sat quietly in the field with his guitar, playing gently to Jonty and the herd… and the horses simply stayed. No pressure. No expectation. Just calm, connection and presence.

People often ask why horses are so healing, and moments like this explain it better than words ever can. Horses don’t care who you are, what you do, how much money you have or what mask you wear. They respond to energy, authenticity and nervous system safety.

In a world that feels loud, rushed and overwhelming, watching the herd soften around music and stillness felt like a reminder of something we all need more of… slowing down enough to actually feel.

The horses teach us that connection doesn’t always need conversation. Sometimes healing looks like a quiet field, a guitar, the sound of birds in the background and a herd standing peacefully beside you.

These are the moments that matter. 🤍

✨Saturday Inspiration, June 13

Not every season of growth looks productive.

Sometimes growth looks like resting.
Sometimes it looks like slowing down.
Sometimes it looks like taking a step back to regain your strength.

We live in a world that celebrates constant motion, but nature teaches us something different.

The horse knows when to run, but it also knows when to stand quietly, conserve energy, and simply be present.

Your worth is not measured by how busy you are.

Today, give yourself permission to pause.

To appreciate how far you've come.
To acknowledge the challenges you've overcome.
To trust that progress is still happening, even when it feels slow.

Every great journey is made up of moments of movement and moments of stillness.

Both matter.

✨ Rest without guilt.
✨ Reflect without judgment.
✨ Move forward with intention.

This Saturday, remember:

*"You don't always need to push harder. Sometimes the next step begins with giving yourself the space to breathe, recover, and reconnect with what truly matters."*

Friday feels a little different these days… and honestly, I’m grateful for it. 🤍

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learnt recently is that building a business doesn’t mean you have to carry every single piece of it alone.

As I continue recovering and slowing my body down a little, I’ve realised how important it is to have the right people around you. People you trust. People who genuinely care about the vision. People who step in and hold things when you can’t do everything yourself.

For years I’ve been the one doing all the things…
the sessions,
the emails,
the planning,
the building,
the dreaming,
the fixing,
the creating.

But lately I’ve found a few little “hacks” in business that have changed everything for me:

✨ asking for help sooner
✨ trusting good staff with responsibility
✨ creating systems instead of chaos
✨ allowing other people to support the vision
✨ protecting my energy so I can stay creative

And the funny thing is… the business hasn’t fallen apart because I stepped back a little.

If anything, it’s growing stronger.

Because now I have more space to do the things I truly love:
building ideas,
creating new projects,
dreaming up experiences,
writing,
designing,
and bringing fresh energy into the business instead of constantly running on empty.

Sometimes healing teaches you what hustle never could.

You don’t have to prove your worth by exhausting yourself.

A sustainable business should support your life — not consume it.

Happy Friday everyone 🤍
