Currently with my Aquacise on a Monday and Friday and my undergraduate course, my working dates are:
Tuesday 11-5pm
Wednesday 9-7pm
Thursday 9-7pm
One Saturday per month

So, my continued learning has carried on this weekend. I joined my good friend Lauren Lomax from Wren & Willow Wellness to train in warm bamboo massage. This is a relaxing massage targeting stress relief, muscle conditioning and reactivating the circulation.

Let me introduce myself, I’m Karen with the pink hair!

I’m a massage therapist and Aquasize instructor, and one of the things that matters most to me is making people feel comfortable, relaxed and completely at ease.

My massage style can be calm, gentle and soothing, or, if you prefer, I can work a little deeper to help ease those areas of tension.

Talking is always optional. If you want to close your eyes, switch off and enjoy your treatment in silence, that’s absolutely fine. And if you need to talk, offload, laugh, cry or simply have someone listen, I’m here for that too.

Away from Zen Den, I enjoy going to the gym and lifting heavy weights 💪 — so although I’m calm and gentle, there’s definitely a strong side to me too!

You may also hear about Skye, my little black Labrador 🐾. She absolutely loves seeing people, but she’s always kept safely away during treatments, so if you’re not comfortable around dogs, there’s absolutely no need to worry.

Zen Den is a safe space. No judgement, no pressure — just time for you.

October is Menopause Awareness Month 💗

Like so many women, I’ve experienced my own share of menopause symptoms — brain fog, low moods, aches and pains, days when everything feels harder than it should, and times when you just don’t feel quite like yourself.

And then there are the hot flashes… and yes, I call them flashes, because for me it’s definitely not a gentle “flush”! It comes in a flash — POW! — it hits you out of nowhere, and just as quickly, it’s gone. 🔥

Menopause can affect us all so differently, and sometimes simply knowing that someone else understands can make a huge difference. This month is a lovely reminder to talk more openly, support one another, and help take away some of the awkwardness around a completely natural stage of life.

If you’re going through it too, you are certainly not alone. 💕
