sound therapy with sabira and I are hosting Into The Light - a Summer Solstice yoga and sound therapy morning this Sunday 21st June at 10am. The combination of the 2 are lovely but here’s why they can both support you to a more regulated nervous system… 🧡

Both practices work on the autonomic nervous system (ANS), shifting the body from sympathetic state (fight/flight) into parasympathetic activation (rest/digest)

Yoga helps by…
* Breathwork (pranayama). Slow, controlled breathing directly stimulates the vagus nerve
* Movement (asana). Builds strength and releases stored stress and tension held somatically in the body
* Meditation & stillness. Can quiet the mind, reducing rumination and anxiety
* Present moment awareness. Interrupts the stress cycle by anchoring awareness in the body

Sound therapy works by…
* Vibration. Sound frequencies travel through the body and directly stimulate the vagus nerve
* Brainwave entrainment. Voice and instruments guide the brain from beta (busy/stressed) into alpha or theta states (calm, creative, restorative)
* The relaxation response. Sustained sound can trigger a physiological shift, potentially slowing heart rate, and dropping cortisol
* Safety signalling. Certain tones can signal safety to the nervous system, helping move out of a freeze or hypervigilant state

Together they can create a beautiful effect! The body is prepared through movement and breath, then the sound takes it deeper into restoration. The combination can be more powerful than either practice alone might achieve.

A new opportunity to rest each month. Long held grounded yin postures to release followed by an extended Savasana with guided nidra meditation to rest.

An hour of simply being. Nothing to do, nowhere to be. An invitation to allow your nervous system to down regulate, and gently move from ‘fight & flight’ to ‘rest and digest.

We’ll gather on the last Tuesday of each month at The Wellbeing Space, Macclesfield 🌿 in Macclesfield, starting 30th June. To book, follow the link in my bio x

People so often ask me if I practice yoga every day and the answer is yes - but not in the way they mean!

No, I don’t do an hour on the mat busting out chaturangas. No I don’t meditate in silence every day (though working towards it!). No I’m not always calm despite how it might seem.

My practice involves but is not exclusive to; movement, stillness,(asana) snatched moments of peace, deep breaths, kindness (ahimsa), moments of reflection (svadyaya), single pointed focus (dharana), honesty (Satya), and so much more.

And it is exactly that - practice. Not perfect. Not striving for anything in particular (aparigraha) other than finding balance and contentment (santosha)

So yes I practice every day but in a multi layered way that is so much more than putting some shapes together without personal intention. That might mean you don’t see it happening on here, but it’s there quietly keeping me sane and purposeful, and I’m so grateful for it 🧡

RECONNECT
Glastonbury
Women’s Yoga Retreat (sorry boys!)
6th - 9th November, 2026

We have just 4 rooms left for this retreat. We were here at the same time last year and it was honestly magical. So lovely that we immediatley rebooked the venue and added an extra night so that we could spend more time reconnecting…

• To your yoga practice - vinyasa, yin, nidra
• To yourself - daily spa, time to chill, hot tubs, quiet mornings, meditation
• To the elements - walking the earth surrounding the venue, exploring Chalice Well Gardens, reading a book by the fire, feeling the air on your skin, having space to just BREATHE
• To each other - friends old and new, sharing stories, giving each other grace, making no judgements and lifting each other up. There’s nothing quite like spending the weekend with a group of like minded women

If you’d like to know more head to the link in my bio or get in touch. We can’t wait to head back here to share this wonderful place and practice, and you are so welcome to join 🧡

One day to go and there’s still time for you to join RECALIBRATE, the 4 week course to a more regulated nervous system!

Our first mini workshop is at 7pm 2nd June online but you can also catch up on the recordings if joining live just feels too restrictive! The recordings, workbooks and meditation audio files will be live for a year so you can complete the course along side the group but also dip back in as and when you want to.

If you’re feeling the call to invest in yourself (for a change!!) then the link is in my bio or we can have a quick chat if you’re still hovering on the ‘book now’ button!

There is no time like the present, in fact it’s the ONLY time we really have x

Not to be dramatic, but… >>>

RECALIBRATE starts this week!
x4 75min mini workshop (live and recording)
x4 5-10min meditation audio files
x4 workbooks for reference and reflection

This isn’t like a yoga class.
This is an education, a chance to understand how you feel, why you feel it, and what yoga tools you can use to build resilience, create motivation, ground you and uplift you.

Regulating your nervous system doesn’t mean sitting in stillness. It’s simply the baseline to living the fullest life you can, being able to find light when you need to and accepting that being human means there will be stormy days too.

If you want to join us, either live or to receive the recordings, message me or click the link in my bio x
