Here is a few photos from my week. I’ve had a week off from mental health because I NEEDED IT! But I’m now at the airport travelling to Dublin to spend the week talking to construction workers about looking after their mental health!

Down time is way more important that people realise.

When was the last time you zoned out?

There is no doubt you need to be made a tough stuff to work in the construction. You have to have grit and determination to push through when times are hard.

Working in bad weather outside in the dark and the cold lifting and shifting heavy stuff breaking your body just to provide for your family

You don’t want to be seen to be showing any signs of weakness and for a lot of people in the construction industry they think asking for help and support is a weakness when in reality it’s a strength

Life is hard enough with everything that you have going on and you might be battling something every day, but you’re doing it on your own

You don’t have to do it on your own there are people out there that wanna help you. They want to support you. They want to get you back on your feet and get your way you need to be in life?

Reach out and ask some help and support it can get better

Working on construction sites there is danger everywhere. Slips, trips and falls being struck by plant electrocution the list goes on!

But one of the biggest dangers out on site is the silence. The silence in this industry is killing more people than any accident out on site. This needs to change. We need to start talking more.

If you work in construction and you feel like you need support please reach out! You aren’t alone and it can get better!
