If your PMS makes you feel like a completely different person every month, this herb is worth knowing about!
Agnus castus is one of my favourite herbs for women who feel like their hormones are completely taking over.

It doesn’t “add hormones” into the body. Instead, it gently supports the communication between the brain, pituitary gland and ovaries, helping the body find a healthier rhythm.

One of the main ways it works is by supporting healthy prolactin levels, which can then help support progesterone balance, especially in the second half of the cycle.

It’s used for symptoms like PMS, sore breasts, mood swings, hormonal headaches, irregular cycles, bloating, cravings and a strong emotional dip before you menstruating.

I always say this, because these symptoms are common, does not mean they are normal.

Your body is always communicating.

Agnus castus isn’t suitable for everyone, especially if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, on hormonal contraception, HRT, fertility medication, dopamine-related medication, or have a hormone-sensitive condition, so always check first.

But for the right person (& I can personally attest), it can be an amazing support for hormone balance, cycle health and feeling more like yourself again.

Sometimes the best advice is the most boring advice.

The more food is mechanically broken down in the mouth, the larger the surface area available for digestive enzymes later in the gut.

Another thing is, chewing slowly stimulates the vagus nerve and parasympathetic nervous system, helping move the body into a “rest and digest” state.

Guys it’s time to learn about our wonderful bodies, ensuring we give it the environment it deserves to not only survive but actually thrive. Off the back of that, you will be dealing with those negative symptoms.

I am delighted to say I was selected for this year’s 30 Under 30 in Northern Ireland (and just made the cut in time 😂).
To be recognised alongside some of the top people across NI is massive for me!

I am sure many of you know that Balanced Life didn’t start as a business. It started with my own health. Trying to figure out my own symptoms, feeling let down by the conventional route, and slowly finding what actually worked with natural health. Anyone who knows me knows all things natural isn’t just a business… it’s my obsession and life! So to turn that into something I get to do every day is a blessing I am grateful for.

There’s been a lot of learning, a lot of figuring things out as I go. But for me, being able to help someone who feels the way I once did has been the best part.

I couldn’t do any of this without my other half, Caolan behind the scenes, and my family and friends who back me fully. And to every single person who’s supported the business in any way… whether that’s a like, a share, or an order… thank you so much 🫶🥺

Balanced Life is only getting started. There’s a lot more to come. I hope you all can continue the journey with me!

If your cells could talk, this is what they’d tell you…

Every second of the day, your body is running one of the most important survival mechanisms you’ve probably never heard of: the Sodium–potassium pump.

Inside every single cell, this pump is constantly moving sodium out and potassium in. Why?

Most people don’t realise that low stomach acid is the root cause of bloating, reflux, poor digestion, and even nutrient deficiencies. But instead of reaching for meds, here’s how to fix it naturally:

- Start your day with lemon water 🍋 and even a small amount before meals. ACV also works great.
- Eat bitter foods before meals to stimulate acid. So many are missing these in the diet. 🥬
Focus on proper chewing (sounds silly but it’s so important!) 👄
Lower stress when eating and in general. 😌

Other things I did not mention that can help:
-Priotise zinc & B vitamins through food or supplements.
-Celtic salt under the tongue before your water for minerals. Chloride is needed to make HCL🧂
-Avoid drinking water WITH meals 💧
- Prioritize whole, unprocessed foods for gut support 🌱
- Cut down on processed foods and sugars which create an acid imbalance. 🍭

Fixing your stomach acid can change EVERYTHING like better digestion, more energy, clearer skin, and better nutrient absorption.
