Agnus castus is one of my favourite herbs for women who feel like their hormones are completely taking over.
It doesn’t “add hormones” into the body. Instead, it gently supports the communication between the brain, pituitary gland and ovaries, helping the body find a healthier rhythm.
One of the main ways it works is by supporting healthy prolactin levels, which can then help support progesterone balance, especially in the second half of the cycle.
It’s used for symptoms like PMS, sore breasts, mood swings, hormonal headaches, irregular cycles, bloating, cravings and a strong emotional dip before you menstruating.
I always say this, because these symptoms are common, does not mean they are normal.
Your body is always communicating.
Agnus castus isn’t suitable for everyone, especially if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, on hormonal contraception, HRT, fertility medication, dopamine-related medication, or have a hormone-sensitive condition, so always check first.
But for the right person (& I can personally attest), it can be an amazing support for hormone balance, cycle health and feeling more like yourself again.
