✨️✨️ ️N A T I O N A L D A Y O F J O Y ✨️✨️
Today is National Day of Joy... a celebration of the little things that make life brighter. It's built around the idea that happiness does not have to come from big milestones or grand occasions; it's a reminder that joy can often be found in everyday moments, a warm hug, a shared laugh, a favourite song or a quiet cuppa. ✨️
National Day of Joy was created in 2019 by Comfort Keepers, (an in-home care provider for seniors and other adults). The idea grew from what caregivers saw every day, that some of the biggest smiles often come from the simplest moments, whether that is hearing a familiar story, listening to a much-loved song or sharing a comforting hug. 🫂
Rooted in care and connection, the day shines a light on the importance of joy at every stage of life, especially for older adults and those who care for them. It is a simple but meaningful celebration of wellbeing, reminding us that even the smallest happy moments can make a real difference. 🤗
National Day of Joy is observed on the last Wednesday of June each year. The timing is fitting... a gentle pause in the middle of the week, halfway through the year, offering a chance with a reminder to slow down and make space for something that brings genuine happiness, however small. 💫
Today is all about making time for the little things that lift your mood. Whether it's sharing a cup of tea with someone you love, listening to a favourite song, taking a walk in the sunshine, sending a kind message or simply pausing to enjoy a quiet moment of gratitude, this day serves as a gentle reminder that joy is often found in the smallest moments. 💛
