🔥 DID YOU KNOW?

There’s something almost hypnotic about sitting and staring into a fire. Humans have gathered around flames for hundreds of thousands of years - for warmth, safety, connection, storytelling and ritual.

You’ll sometimes hear the claim that staring at fire “activates the pineal gland”. There isn’t currently good scientific evidence that firelight directly activates the pineal gland. In fact, the pineal gland is primarily involved in producing melatonin, and light generally suppresses melatonin production.

But that doesn’t mean the feeling you get around a fire isn’t real.

🔥 Watching the slow, unpredictable movement of flames can naturally hold our attention without demanding it.
🔥 The warmth, repetitive crackling sounds and flickering light can encourage relaxation and a more meditative state.
🔥 Research has even found that watching and listening to a fire can reduce blood pressure, particularly when the sound of the fire is included.

And from a spiritual perspective, fire gazing has been used as a form of meditation for centuries. In yogic traditions, Trataka involves fixing the gaze on a single point - commonly a candle flame - as a practice of concentration, stillness and inner awareness.

So perhaps you don’t need to worry about whether your pineal gland is being “activated”.

Sometimes sitting quietly beside a fire, putting the phone down and simply watching the flames dance is medicine enough. 🔥🧘

✨ Friday night vibes… ✨

As the seasons begin to change and we start moving towards the slower, cosier months, maybe it’s a little reminder that we’re allowed to slow down too 🍂

Sometimes you don’t need to do anything with your crystals.

No grids. No rituals. No intentions.

Sometimes you just need to sit, switch off… and cuddle a crystal 🥰

Simply holding a crystal while you relax is a lovely way to connect with its energy, notice how it feels to you and gradually build that bond. It’s something we always talk about in our Introduction to Crystals Workshop.

So tonight, get comfy, grab whichever crystal you’re naturally drawn to and just spend some time together 💗

As nature starts to slow down around us, the nights start to draw in, we need to take this as our reminder to slow down too. The selenite lamps are on, the blankets are out and the crystals are being cuddled 💗

Kyanite has become considerably more expensive to source, and we simply cannot buy pieces like these from our wholesalers at these prices anymore. So when these last few have gone, we won’t be able to replace them at anything close to the same price.

A great crystal for prophecy, divination, inspiration and flow.

Physically this is a good stone for kidneys, bladder, connective tissue and aids anemia & gout.

For those who like to be calm - this is a good one to have in the toolbox as it also helps with meditation, letting go and helps with dream recall.

✨🎵 September Sound Baths 🎶 ✨

After weeks of summer holidays, days out, keeping everyone entertained, disrupted routines and hearing “Muuuum/Daaaaad…” approximately 7,000 times a day 😅 perhaps it’s time for a little bit of YOU time.
