Five years ago today, a single phone call changed my world forever. ❤️🩹
Sometimes it feels like it only happened yesterday, and other times it feels like an absolute lifetime ago. The fact is, today marks five years since that dreaded phone call that nobody ever wants to receive.
Losing someone to su***de takes grief to an entirely different level. I don't think I'll ever stop asking why. I know I’ll never get the answers, and honestly, that is a daily struggle.
I love this photo so much because I can still remember that day so incredibly well. We’d been out for food and then headed on to an open mic night. While I loved the night itself at the time, it’s only now I truly realise just how precious those ordinary moments were. Today, it’s those special memories that help fill the hole left in my heart.
If there is one thing this has taught me, it’s that we need to check in on the people with the biggest smiles, the loudest laughs, and the ones who are always the life and soul of the party. So often, someone is suffering deeply behind that camaraderie.
Each day we just keep moving forward. Some days are much harder than others, and some days it feels completely impossible, but we still hear your booming voice, and we know we must.
As always, boy, sing it loud. I’m always listening. 🎶🎤🎵
