A small polite request to clients 🙏
If your tattoo is booked in, for example, a month’s time, please try not to push for the design with daily messages. Each piece is prepared in order and usually closer to the appointment date.
The same goes for messages – I always try to reply as quickly as possible, but sometimes I put my phone down for an hour during the day so I can actually work properly and focus. A bit of patience really does help. 🙂
People often think running a one-person tattoo studio is just drawing pictures on skin.
In reality you’re the artist, designer, receptionist, customer service, calendar manager, marketing team, social media manager, influencer, photographer of your work, photo editor, purchasing department, shopper for supplies, accountant, administrator, cleaner, equipment technician, sterilisation specialist, project manager and sometimes even a therapist for clients.
On top of that there’s daily creativity – completely individual for each person, designing from scratch and the pressure to give 100% every single day and be the best version of your work.
It takes a huge amount of focus and responsibility, because you’re working on something that stays with someone for life.
Sometimes I do feel overwhelmed by everything that needs to be handled, but I never give up — because this is something I genuinely love and chose for myself. 🖤
Then there’s designing, consultations, replying to hundreds of messages, organising appointments, seminars, conventions, constant training and always thinking about how to improve the business.
Of course it’s a 7-day-a-week job because messages come in 24/7 and everyone expects a reply “as soon as possible”.
And now you’re also expected to stay online and create content.
I suppose it’s time to cut sleep down to 3 hours… maybe 2. Lunch included. 😀
But all jokes aside — I truly love my clients and this job despite everything. Just a reminder that behind it all, there is only one human being. 🥲🖤
