10,000 steps is a great goal to use as your daily benchmark, but it should not be your only motivational factor, because what daily movement actually does for you goes far beyond anything a tracker can measure.
The women who make movement a non-negotiable are not doing it to hit a target. They are doing it because of how it makes them feel, for the health benefits and the mental clarity gained.
Science has shown us that time in green spaces, natural light and fresh air produces a measurably greater reduction in stress than almost any other daily habit. Your nervous system responds to nature in a way it simply cannot respond to a screen or a gym. And when you add the practice of moving without your phone, meaning no podcast, playlist, or notifications, you give your brain the unstructured quiet it needs to process, wander and breathe.
Set a goal to build this daily habit. Aim to go outside as often as you can, leaving your phone behind at least once this week, so the movement can be as much for your mind and your nervous system as it is for your body.
That is the practice that actually changes you. 🤍
The version of you you’re becoming is shaped by what you practise daily. Keep choosing her. ✨
