Why do we patch test with different wavelengths?
For this client, Iāve used two different wavelengths 532nm and 1064nm during her laser removal patch test.
Why? Because different wavelengths target different pigment colours within the skin.
1064nm is typically used to target darker/black pigment, while 532nm can be more effective on warmer tones such as red, orange and some brown pigments.
PMU pigment isnāt always as simple as what we can see on the surface. As laser begins to break pigment down, underlying colours can become more visible which is why assessing the pigment properly and choosing the correct wavelength is so important.
A patch test allows me to see how your pigment and your skin respond before we begin a full removal session, so I can create the safest and most effective treatment plan for you.
If you have old, saturated, uneven or unwanted PMU brows and youāre wondering whether laser removal could help, book your laser removal consultation + patch test and we can assess them properly. āØ
