Silly, serious, I don't mind. What should I actually send this woman so I can finally get my inbox back?! Nothing has worked so far...

Another surgery in the books.

In the last 7 years I've had three: two major, one minor. Every time the same things happen to me.

- I wake up in the recovery room bawling my eyes out (it's how I react to anaesthesia apparently)
- I dwell on whether the sensation of going under is what death feels like...
- I am wrapped with overwhelming gratitude.

Home and healing, quietly processing.

Mine is the whole 5 stages of grief thing. Not real. Not a thing. Wasn't meant to applied to grief from bereavement.

So what's yours?

Sharing this incredible video posted recently.

I can't overstate how special and vulnerable and valuable this conversation is to witness for people who have never been in a situation like this. We humans learn by watching, by listening, by witnessing.

You may never be in a position where you're having a discussion like this. Maybe you will be. Either way, this is an opportunity to see and hear what it's like.

I cannot thank you enough for sharing your life with the world, Libra. πŸ–€πŸ–€ You are helping people you'll never know.

I believe my health conditions make me a better doula. I also think sharing our ups and downs in life makes us better humans!

I'm genuinely emotionally good with all that's going on, which is making space for lots of interesting thoughts. Which way do I want the pendulum to swing? What is the best outcome here, cause no matter what I'm going to have to adjust!

And I'm the spirit of trying not to carry everything on my own, I wanted to share πŸ–€

I'll keep updates coming as they come.

😭 I cried the whole way through making this, but I really want to share πŸ–€

I don't know who this note was meant for, who he was going to be speaking with and wanted to remember to ask. It definitely wasn't me.

When he died and I was trying to sort things out, I ended up taking photos of everything and anything. Just in case. There was no organization, no death folder, lots of bits of paper with passwords and thoughts. Some were important and some weren't, so they all got photographed in case I needed them later.

I was reminiscing and scrolling through photos and this jumped out at me like it was glowing!

He was proud of me no matter what, just that kind of dad.

But this really feels like a hug.

Few people understand grief like , and fewer still make room for others to share theirs.

His recent comments in The Red Hand Files spoke to me on such a deep level, I had to pluck them apart and expand.

I'd love it if you subscribed to my Substack, btw! It's all free, and a place where I can really stretch into places that I can't reach on Instagram or Facebook. Link is where you'd expect it 😁
