🤔Tell my doc please about the device I mentioned to you, the one similar to pacemaker to treat my back and leg pain
👨⚕️Look buddy, our spinal cord has areas very active in the transmission of pain going up and down the spinal cord towards higher centres of the brain.
What we do is that we place wires through the skin in to the epidural space under sedation similar in technique to the epidural that pregnant ladies have to relief labour pain but we don’t insert a catheter, we rather insert wires close to those areas to stimulate them.
Those wires are connected to an external battery, which is like a small computer that controls those wires and we do this on trial basis for an average duration of 2 weeks to give you the chance to make up your mind whether this treatment is helping you or not and we closely follow you up.
🚑If you’re happy with the outcome, we remove everything and we bring you back on another date where we do a minor surgical procedure to insert the system, one incision in the middle of your back to insert the wires and another one under belt line for the battery and the whole system lives with you for life compared to medications which you need to take multiple times everyday or interventional procedures that you need to have them repeated.
🤓That sounds high tech and amazing doc
