NHS England is rolling out HPV self-testing kits for women who have fallen behind on their cervical screening.

The free kits can be used at home, making it easier for more women to complete potentially lifesaving checks to help prevent cervical cancer.

Eligible women will start receiving invitations today, so check your phone, your email or your post to see if you qualify.

If you're invited, you'll be able to order a free kit through the NHS App or your NHS online account, and get back on track with protecting yourself against cervical cancer.

We are going to film a podcast with one of the GPs on this specific new roll out so keep your eyes peeled

NEW EPISODE 🎙️

In today's deeply personal episode of Peterloo's Daily Dose, Jess is joined by her sister, Leanne, who shares her experience of being diagnosed with breast cancer at just 33 years old.

Leanne speaks openly about fighting to have the treatment she believed was right for her, undergoing a double mastectomy, lymph node removal, six months of chemotherapy, five weeks of daily radiotherapy, and the reality of living with ten years of hormone treatment and medically induced menopause because her cancer was oestrogen receptor-positive.

Together, Jess and Leanne reflect on how cancer affects an entire family—how Leanne protected her young children through treatment, and what it was like for loved ones watching from the outside.

It's an honest conversation about resilience, fear, advocacy, and life beyond diagnosis.

Women’s Health & the Power of Research 🔬💜

Women’s health affects millions of people, yet many conditions affecting women have historically been under-researched or misunderstood.

Research can help us better understand women’s health, improve diagnosis and treatment, and make sure healthcare is based on the experiences and needs of women.

From reproductive health and menopause to heart disease, mental health and conditions that disproportionately affect women, better research can help create better healthcare for everyone.

💜 By supporting women’s health research, we can help close knowledge gaps, improve outcomes and build a healthier future for women and girls.

The NHS has launched a new online self-assessment tool for women who experience a bleed or spotting they’ve been through the menopause and who are not on HRT.

It’s for women in Bury, Salford, Oldham, Heywood, Middleton, and Rochdale.

Any bleeding from your va**na after the menopause (when your periods have been stopped for 12 months or more) should be checked out to rule out possible womb cancer. You can now do this without booking an appointment with a GP.

Simply answer a few questions on the online self-assessment tool to request a hospital check.
