💙 World Asthma Day is a great time to check how your child’s asthma is managed ✅
The key message is:
👉 Everyone with asthma should have an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
If your child has asthma:
🫁 Check they have a preventer (ICS) inhaler
💨 Make sure it’s taken as prescribed
📝 Keep their asthma action plan up to date

It’s World Asthma Day 🌏🫁 and as always, we are proud to be supporting the campaign.
It’s something that we feel passionately about - and forms a big part of our role as asthma educators.
The theme this year is the need for people with asthma to have access to anti inflammatory inhalers, in order to treat their asthma.
So, how can we achieve this?

Today is 🌍 World Asthma Day 💙
The global asthma message this year is clear ✅
👉 Everyone with asthma should have an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS).
For children 👧🧒, this usually means a daily preventer inhaler — even when they feel well 😊
ICS inhalers work by:
🫁 Reducing airway inflammation
🚫 Helping prevent asthma attacks
🏫 Supporting children to thrive at school and play
🌍 ✅ 💙 🫁

Last Friday to top off a great week of learning, we joined and other healthcare professionals to meet with to discuss the impacts of indoor and outdoor air pollution across Manchester and what actions we could undertake to improve Manchester's air quality for children and young people.

In the afternoon, the team then headed to Whitworth Park to cheer on colleagues who were participating in ; cycling from Wythenshawe and North Manchester Hospital to raise awareness of links between air quality and childhood health issues.
