Your unfair advantage nothing glamorous.

It’s just a standard that you set yourself, and hold yourself to.

When it’s chaos, are you an asset?

When you’re in a challenge, are you effective?

When a decision matters most, do you have conviction?

Do your actions match your ambition?

Founder performance is a blood sport.

Those that sustain their performance across their mind, body, and business are doing nothing out of the ordinary.

They’re just compounding their efforts on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis because their process is agile, not rigid and fragile.

Built for Pressure Performance Partnership is designed to build infrastructure for leaders under pressure.

No gimmicks, just principle-driven coaching designed specifically for founders and athletes who meed to perform when it matters most.

Weekly Debrief

This will be something a little bit different compared to usual.

A lot of the time I’ll talk about my business, my life, my performance but today I had a massive reflexion on something that’s more important

I was sat at a soft play, getting a coffee, watching George run around like a madman.

I was sat next to a couple, both on their computer, one on Claude Code and the other on their phone.

Totally locked in on what they were trying to do with their work and their son was sat there with no one to talk to.

Ten minutes later George ended up playing with this kid and then he started to talk to me. He spent 15 minutes unloading everything out of his imagination on top of me talking about Dragon Ball Z and everything in between.

But what I actually sat there and thought to myself was, “What’s the whole point of all this?”

His parents were there, doing work whilst doing an activity with their son, totally not in the room with him.

Yet there was me, who just worked a week and kept my promise and had one of the busiest weeks of work I’ve had, but also stayed present whilst travelling with my family.

I’m not saying I’m perfect. What I am saying is that there’s one thing I guarantee and I promise:

I’ll never let my business get in the way of the connection with my son, my wife and those say are close to me.

Chasing achievement is a double edged sword, and I see so many break their boundaries and their promises to themselves and those they love because they don’t stop to evaluate what matters and why they are doing all of this?

I know so many who struggle with this but the difference is are your actions tell you the story you want to be apart of?

Being productive comes down to one thing

Knowing what lever to pull and how effective will that action be.

Seems simple

But so many get caught in the loop of “adding more” to feel like they’re being progressive.

Don’t get caught in the trap as you’re destined to head into no man’s land

One of the biggest lessons I had last week was actually giving myself permission to be as present as possible.

People that are wired for achievement usually live in the future, continually striving for more, pushing their limits, and thinking that they can find their next level of performance by just doing

By default, what they actually resort to is feeling inadequate nearly all the time. They're on the back foot, or they're being selfish, with this underlying feeling of guilt that all they want to do is recover and go again.

Last week I lived how I thought I should, being fully on when needed but also stepping back and being fully off when my family or myself needed it too.

People who are wired for achievement will understand that actually doing that and seeing that in real time is a huge skill in itself, and something that I've taken years to not only feel but master.

I see founders all the time pushing themselves, striving for more, but they have no fulfilment. They're unhappy, tired, and they're just struggling to keep their head above water because they're not living by the standards they say they want to live by.

Peak performance requires a firm base to spring off. If you haven't built that behavioural foundation, you don't get the peaks you're asking for. You get long, flat-lined, middle-ground behaviour patterns that will not serve you in September.

Your next level of performance is by design, not by default. Realistically, the only way to do that is to know more about you, how you operate, and what you are actually trying to achieve.

If you're not feeling calm, ready, and always feeling fatigued, answer this question for me.

When was the last time you actually trained yourself to be calm and present?

That there will set you free as long as you take action with it

One of the hardest things I've ever wrestled with is the guilt I've felt when I wanted to recover.

For years, I never really understood what a rest ethic meant.

I thought everything was always more sacrifice and everything for everybody else, pushing my business to protect everybody, but more so forgetting the one thing that I know helps me recalibrate: Stepping away, gaining some space and keeping it simple.

This was the first weekend I've taken the boy camping, just the two of us. The only intention was to get to the top of the mountain, have a brew, eat some food, and come back down again.

What this actually symbolises is an understanding that I know what's needed to operate at the level that I want, and that's not by playing in the messy middle. That's by being either on or off.

Extremely grateful to have an amazing family unit that allows me to do this, but more so this was an exercise for me to actually do what I said I was going to.

Insane time and debrief to come but that was exactly what I needed.

If you feel like your back's against the wall at the moment and you are consistently under pressure

These are the three key levers that I'm pulling currently whilst I'm aining to grow across my mind, body, and my business.

Don't get let in your own tunnel vision as that is the piece that will cash you off guard

15/08/2026

If you're in a business, the harsh reality is that you've chosen the hard road on purpose.

For me, this week has not been about dominating. This has been purely about getting as much as I can done when I can as nothing seemed to go to plan

That's what business ownership is: having the opportunity to show up, do what you need to get done, and still be in that fight regardless of what's going on around you.

The world doesn't happen to you, and vice versa. You choose how you want to operate. For me, this is all on my terms: the rough and the smooth. It's not always about how dominating or effective I can be. Sometimes it's a bad case of just getting it done and moving forward. That's the difference.

I’ve always struggled with vision.

Not going to spec savers vision.

I mean being able to join the dots, feeling, seeing and knowing I’m on the right path with my performance, business and where my life’s going.

Until I implemented one key thing

Having intent with checking in what I wanted and what I need to do.

Not what others think or telling me to do. But sitting in the uncomfortable middle ground learning how to navigate in the chaos.

I see so many leaders sitting into camps.

One waiting for the perfect storm, as if their perfect moment will just arrive and it will happen.

Or the other, the one who never finds any form of happiness because they keep chasing the never ending hamster wheel of hitting goals and never being present.

I’ve been in both camps over my life time.

But at this point of my career and life the game has a third bucket to sit in.

The one of intent and implementation. Learning from mistakes and taking action with responsibility,

Nothing fancy. Just the harsh reality that you can only really learn who you are and what you actually want by being in motion and shying away from owning your decisions.

Back running
BBQ with friends
Meeting great people
Learning more about the inner game

But the best and hardest thing had been reminding myself “the only place to really learn is in the uncertainty that you’ve asked for”

If you’re sat there going into Monday with the game plan of “work harder” but deep down you have no idea where you’re actually aiming for then maybe it’s time to start to play a different game.
