Great to hear Dr Jess Hill, Professor of Physiology at St Mary's University, discussing an important topic in recovery on the Seasoned Strides Recovery Special podcast, and mentioning ISOBAR.
One of the most interesting points raised was this:
Two people can wear the same size compression garment and still receive completely different levels of support.
Why?
Because everyone’s body is different.
Two runners may both wear a “medium”, but have completely different calf sizes, muscle profile, limb shape and recovery needs. Standard sizing based on height and weight doesn’t always account for those differences.
As Dr Hill explains:
“The gold standard compression garment would be made to measure.”
That thinking sits at the heart of ISOBAR Personalised Compression Therapy.
Using ISOFIT™ video scanning and personalised pressures, ISOBAR is designed around the individual, helping create a more accurate fit and more consistent compression support for recovery, rehabilitation, swelling management and performance.
Because if recovery matters…
Should compression still be one-size-fits-all?
A really worthwhile listen for runners, athletes, clinicians and anyone interested in the future of personalised recovery and compression.
