THANK YOU to everyone who took part in our Easter Duck Race 2026. Together, we’ve raised over £7,500 for vulnerable children and babies across the UK 💛

We’re so grateful to every local business who sponsored a duck, donated prizes, and helped bring the day to life with food, entertainment and support. And of course, thank you to everyone who came along, bought a mini duck, and cheered from the sidelines—this event wouldn't be possible without you!

For all those people wondering—we retrieve every duck from the water and give them a giant bath, so they're ready to be reused and recycled for the following year 🙏

With 2026 marking Salford’s centenary year, it felt even more special to bring people together right in the heart of the city to celebrate community and give back.

We can’t wait to do it all again next year! 🎉

This year saw a battle of the veterans vs. the newcomers, and in the end…the veterans just about held their nerve 👀

Simple, streamline, unstoppable! Unite Duck powered through the wet conditions to take 1st place 💨

🥈 NG Bailey
What a debut! The Mancunian Quacker pushed it to the line in a photo finish 👏

🥉 Soapworks
Another brilliant design from local artist David Gee—a strong 3rd place finish!

Honourable mentions:
It was so close between 3rd and 4th, with CMap just missing out! 11 Central (SEVEN BRO7HERS) and Orega weren’t far behind either!

Meet the first ducks of our 2026 Easter Duck Race!

In the Children’s Unit at Royal Oldham Hospital, there’s a dedicated space where young patients can step away from the hospital environment and enjoy some much-needed play time. ✨

This wonderful sensory room, delivered by us in 2024, is filled with calming lights, tactile fabrics and interactive features that help children switch off from treatment and enjoy play in a way that feels safe and engaging.

Fully accessible for children of all ages and abilities, the room also plays an important role in supporting both mental and physical rehabilitation during a hospital stay.

We recently met 3-year-old Georgie, who was enjoying the room while recovering from a chest infection. Georgie experiences low oxygen levels and relies on inhalers, so outdoor play can be challenging—but the sensory room gives her a comfortable space to explore and develop at her own pace.

Her mum told us:
“Once she leaves the room, she becomes calmer and more responsive to completing her treatment.”

Last week we visited the Children’s Unit at Royal Oldham Hospital to see the brand new Babyleo Incubator we provided! 💙

This incredible piece of equipment will make care safer, gentler and easier for poorly and premature babies, including those with conditions like jaundice.

The Babyleo has been designed with families at its heart. Unlike older, bulkier models, it offers easier access for staff and loved ones, helping maximise precious early bonding moments.

✨ Key features include:
• Temperature-regulating blanket and soothing mood lighting
• Light and noise level alerts to protect babies’ comfort
• User-friendly controls, including constant health monitoring, for staff and parents
• A special C-tray so babies can be X-rayed without being moved
• Wheelchair-accessible design so all parents can provide close care
• Kangaroo Mode—a built-in timer that helps parents enjoy more skin-to-skin cuddles without stress ❤️
