Welcome to our new GP

We are pleased to welcome Dr Joe Amissah-Arthur, who has joined Chorlton Family Practice this week. Dr Amissah-Arthur will be seeing patients on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, helping to increase clinical capacity and improve access for our patients. An update for our patients – December service performance:

We want to share a brief update on how the practice has recently been performing and how we continue to improve access to our services.

In December, the practice supported over 22,500 registered patients and managed more than 10,000 patient contacts, including appointments, prescriptions, referrals, and administrative support. This was a very busy winter period, but we are pleased to report several positive improvements.

Patients experienced shorter waiting times on the phone, with calls being answered more quickly and significantly fewer missed calls compared to the previous month. Many concerns were dealt with more efficiently at first contact, reducing the need for callbacks.

Our clinical teams delivered a wide range of care, including face-to-face and telephone appointments, online consultations, and home visits, while our pharmacy team supported thousands of patients with medication queries and prescription requests. Behind the scenes, staff also processed a very high volume of clinical documents and referrals to ensure continuity and safety of care.

While demand remains high, particularly during winter, we are encouraged that access and responsiveness have improved. We continue to review how we work so that patients can contact us more easily and receive the right care, at the right time, from the right professional.

Thank you for your patience and understanding, and for continuing to work with us to use services appropriately.
