🔔 Apopka and Kissimmee! 🔔

These areas are great if you want a good blend of nature, wildlife, and fun things to do.

We watched some really beautiful sunsets on Lake McCoy, with alligators and different birds right there with us.🐊 🐦 🐦‍⬛ 🦜 🌅
We swam in the clear springs at Wekiwa Springs State Park — the water felt so refreshing. 🏊‍♂️
We checked out the Museum of the Apopkans and had a fun day at the Central Florida Zoo & Botanical Gardens. 🦒 🐍 🌼
We visited Old Town and Fun Spot America. 🎢🎡🎠🎪
We had a tasty lunch at World Food Trucks. 🥙🥘🍤
We went to the Pirates Dinner Adventure, which was a lot of fun. 🏴‍☠️ 🦜👸 🧜‍♀️
We did the scenic Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive. 🐇🪿🦋🐢🐊🦎🦅
One of the coolest parts was feeding wild deer and raccoons in the backyard before bed.🦝🦌
And we relaxed in the resort pool and hot tub every day. 😌

It was a relaxing and enjoyable mix of everything. Definitely worth visiting!

Bye-bye Florida! 🥲 Till next time 🤭

Had such a nice time in Key Largo and Nokomis!

In Key Largo we went to John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Snorkeled and swam in the beautiful water, even though the beach is rocky.

We explored Fakahatchee Strand Preserve State Park too — it was really cool and wild.

At Nokomis Beach we saw dolphins, hunted for shark teeth, found a giant black sea slug, and met a cool homeschooling family living in their van. We joined a drumming circle, danced in the rain, watched a gorgeous sunset, and enjoyed the full moon.
One day we got caught in a big storm with lightning flashing right above us — pretty intense!

We also celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary there. Perfect spot for it! ❤️

Had a great time in Homestead, Florida!

Visited Coral Castle — this place is awesome! One guy, Edward Leedskalnin (latvian BTW 🤩), built the whole thing by himself between 1923 and 1951. He carved and moved over 1,000 tons of coral rock using just basic tools. No one really knows how he did it. Super impressive and mysterious!

Then we checked out Robert Is Here shop for fruit and their awesome animal garden — goats, mini cows, turtles, iguanas, geese, and emus all going crazy for the lettuce.

In Everglades National Park we walked the Gumbo Limbo Trail and Anhinga Trail (saw gators and heard one rumbling), stopped at Flamingo, saw a coyote, and spotted a cool mirage on the road that looked just like water. The chicken wings there were pretty bad there though 😬

Finished with an airboat ride at the Alligator Farm — those 360 spins were crazy! Got to hold a baby alligator too ❤️

We also drove up to Fort Lauderdale and got caught in a huge storm — the rain was pouring down like crazy and the wind was whipping everywhere!

Florida is awesome as always! 🇺🇸

🚢 Caribbean Life & The Animal Connection

Cozumel & Costa Maya: It’s wild to think these areas sit on a massive limestone shelf with no surface rivers. The ancient civilizations here actually survived by using underground sinkholes for water and mapping the stars to timing their harvest. You can really feel that history when you're there.

Cozumel’s Coast: We were basically sailing right alongside the second-largest coral reef in the world. It’s like a massive underwater city that keeps the water that incredible shade of turquoise while protecting the whole shoreline.

Nassau: This was the ultimate "maritime highway" back in the day. Because the water is so shallow and clear, it made perfect sense why it was the go-to spot for treasure fleets and pirates moving between the Atlantic and the Gulf.

Ocean Cay: This was probably the most unique stop. It’s hard to believe it used to be an industrial sand mine. Now, it’s a full marine reserve where they’re researching "super coral" to help save the oceans. Seeing that transformation in person was pretty impressive.

🌊☀️ Cocoa Beach: Perfect for Families & Home Education!

The absolute highlight was watching a live rocket launch from the beach. 🚀 The sound was incredibly loud and you could actually feel the windows vibrating — such a cool experience! 💯
We also saw a beautiful cloud during the day with a striking golden orange edge that faded from white to yellow to orange. It was a rare optical effect called cloud iridescence — really pretty and unexpected!
We dedicated a full day to the Kennedy Space Center. It was fascinating walking around the Rocket Garden, going through the different exhibits, and learning all about the space program.
⛱️ The beach was perfect for downtime — soft sand, decent waves, and long early morning walks. We even had a raccoon come right up near where we were staying one evening. We also spent time on the pier watching the surfers.
Cocoa Beach offers a great combination of space attractions and proper beach time without feeling overcrowded. We loved the relaxed Space Coast atmosphere and the most beautiful sunrises 🌅 😍

Who else loves combining beach days with meaningful education? 🏖️✨

🌸✨ Spring Equinox vibes incoming — this is how I'm honoring the cosmic reset on March 20th! ✨🌸

In just a few days (Friday, March 20), the Sun enters Aries and day & night balance perfectly. It's the astrological New Year — a powerful portal for fresh starts, courage, and building dreams with real structure and heart.

This year's energy feels extra special with Saturn + Neptune hanging out in early Aries, asking us to blend bold action with spiritual wisdom and compassion. No more illusions or rushing — it's time for aligned, sustainable rebirth! 🌱🔥

Here's my plan to celebrate & work with these energies:

✨️Morning balance meditation at sunrise (or around the exact moment if I can swing it) — breathing in equal light/dark, feeling the tipping point toward growth.

✨️Intention-setting ritual — lighting a red candle, journaling my top goals for the year (personal identity, creative projects, helping others), speaking them out loud, then safely burning the paper or planting seeds with them.

✨️Small altar moment — red & gold elements for Aries fire, amethyst for Neptune intuition, something nurturing like flowers or a family photo for Jupiter in Cancer's abundance vibe.

✨️Gentle fiery movement — a walk in nature or short dance/yoga flow to spark that Aries courage, followed by compassionate reflection.

✨️Releasing & grounding — letting go of old mental fog, forgiving past hasty starts, and committing to kind, realistic steps forward.

No impulsiveness, no escapism — just empowered, dreamy-yet-disciplined action.

🌞 Who's with me? 🌞

So excited to share my first adventures in basket weaving! 🌿🧺
I started with some willow twigs I foraged from the park (just picked up off the ground – free materials!), and made this little basket.
Then I got bolder and tackled blackberry brambles – ouch on the thorns, but totally worth it! The second one turned out much bigger and stronger, perfect for storing my onions and keeping them nice and airy.
Loving this new hobby – there's something so satisfying about turning wild plants into useful things. Who knew foraging could be this fun? 😊
