September 💓

The first day of the month is a good time to make time to check your chest for any changes ⏰

If you notice anything different, contact your GP practice to get it checked- even if you’ve recently had a clear mammogram.

You know your body best, knowing what is normal for you and what isn’t can help to detect things in the earlier stages.

Every year, thousands of children across England miss important health appointments — and for paediatric clinics, around 1 in 10 appointments are recorded as Was Not Brought (WNB).

For children living with diabetes, missing eye screening means missing vital checks that help protect their sight. Repeated WNBs can also be an early sign of unmet health needs or safeguarding concerns, which is why national guidance asks all services to look closely at patterns of non‑attendance.

If you’re finding it hard to get to your child’s appointment, please let us know.
We can help rearrange and make sure they don’t miss the care they need.
Your child’s safety and sight matter — and we’re here to help.

For more information or to rearrange please contact us 0161 464 3000

Have you been invited for an Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA) screening? It’s important to attend 💙

AAA screening is offered to men in England during the year they turn 65. The screening test looks for a swelling (aneurysm) in the aorta, the main blood vessel that carries blood from your heart to the rest of your body 🩺

An abdominal aortic aneurysm often causes no symptoms, which means many people don't know they have one. If an aneurysm grows and bursts, it can be life-threatening, which is why early detection is so important ⚠️

The screening itself is quick, painless and similar to an ultrasound scan. Most appointments take less than 10 minutes and can provide reassurance or help identify any problems early 👍

You'll usually only need to be screened once, unless an aneurysm is found and requires monitoring 👨‍⚕️

If you've received an invitation, don't ignore it. Attending your appointment could save your life 💙
